Rise and Run

213: Wine & Dine Week, Tips, and the runDisney Community

The RDMTeam Season 5 Episode 213

The fastest way to upgrade a race weekend isn’t a workout—it’s a conversation. We kick off the 2025 Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend with a clear plan to turn nerves into connection, mapping exactly where to find us before each start, how to spark easy chats in the corrals, and why your first bus and first hello can change the whole vibe. If you’re arriving solo, you don’t have to stay that way; we’ll make the introductions and help you find your people.

We walk through the training checkpoints for marathon, Goofy, Dopey, and Disneyland half, then pivot to the decisions that protect your legs: expo routes, virtual queue timing, park-mile creep, and the smart way to balance merch hunts with rest. You’ll get race-day tips that actually help—carry a lightweight finish bag, rotate shoes across races, pack a hat and sunglasses, keep a poncho handy, and be ready to simplify costumes if the humidity climbs. We also flag the perks of the earliest buses: shorter character-photo lines, calmer corrals, and extra minutes to breathe before the fireworks.

Midway, we spotlight a new "Podcast We Listen To" with AJ and Erika from the One More Run podcast—former Disneyland cast members sharing beginner-friendly guidance on proof of time, corrals, fueling, and costumes with pro-level production and zero gatekeeping. Their mission mirrors ours: make runDisney feel welcoming, informative, and fun for new runners and veterans alike.

We wrap with a massive roll call, celebratory shout-outs, and details for meeting up beside the grandstands, plus a nod to the Give Kids The World Gingerbread Run under the lights. Lace up, say hi, and let the miles take care of themselves. If this episode helps, tap follow, share it with a friend heading to Wine & Dine, and leave a quick review—what’s the one tip you’ll use this weekend?

SPEAKER_00:

This is Lori from North Kingdom. Those hills come up with my butt. But you are now listening to the Rise and Run Podcast. Happy running, everybody.

SPEAKER_06:

Hey, thanks, Lori. Go back to the Burden Hand Half Marathon for that intro from Lori. We appreciate it. Hello, my friends. Welcome. Welcome to episode 213 of the Rise and Run Podcast. I'm Bob. I'm here this week with John. Hey, how you doing? With Jack. Hiya. And with Greg. Hey, hey, hey. Now, if you hear how you doing, or hiya, or hey, hey, hey, and you don't have headsets in, that's because it's wine and dine weekend. And we're really there. Although if you hear hiya, that you have good ears because Jack's not there. And if you hear hey, hey, hey, I'm not there either. If you hear hey, hey, yeah. Well, you probably have if you hear hey, hey, you probably have headsets in. Because Greg's there. But if you hear John, say how you doing. How you doing? Look around. John might be there. Alicia's not with us tonight. If you hear Alicia saying hi, uh look low. Alicia's not very tall.

SPEAKER_09:

Listen, she's down there already. She already went to Darkside Margaritas. She's starting to rack up the the bar tab for the for the the uh the meetup on Saturday. So she she's a little preoccupied right now. We're all down there.

SPEAKER_06:

I've been down there uh since Monday. Yes, so have I. I get in on Monday. Yeah, that's right. I'm here now. I'm here now. I know. Well, of course we're here now.

SPEAKER_10:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06:

All right. All right, we've got the expo right now. Greg's gonna be upset with me. But if you haven't figured it out, we get we have a hard time keeping it straight. We're recording out of order. All right. It's really a couple of weeks ahead. But I'm serious about it though. If you hear us or see us, please, please say hi. We love seeing you guys and expanding the family, and we are so excited to be back at Disney World for wine and dine weekend.

The Rise and Run Podcast is sponsored by our wonderful friends over at Magic Bound Travel. Now, again, everyone is now present in Orlando for Wine and Dine. But again, this is just the kickoff of the Florida Run Disney season. There are still three more race weekends to go, and you better have a room for those other race weekends. And if you don't, our friends over at Magic Bound can surely make that happen for you. I think as of right now, there are discounts for almost every single race weekend that is available. Now, how much availability there is, we don't know, but that's why you work with Magic Bound because they're the ones that do the hard work that gets you the absolute lowest price. So be sure to go visit MagicBoundTravel.com to get your free no obligation quote.

SPEAKER_06:

Thank you, Greg. All right, let's take a look at the training schedule. Wine and dine. You know what you got. You got a 5K, a 10K and a half. It's race weekend. This is it. This is the Victory Lab. We're going to talk a little bit more about it in just a moment. But this is the one. If this is your first time, especially if this is your first time at Disney World for a race, it's just the best. Looking forward to seeing everybody. It's so exciting. So that's what's up. We know we've got one marathon weekend. Now we're in training week number 17. If you're running the marathon, you've got five miles on the training schedule with a magic mile. Now that magic mile is one of the five. What I typically do is a very slow first mile, then run the magic mile, then three more to round it off. If you're doing goofy or dopey, you've got four to six miles. Marathon weekend, I'm sorry, half marathon weekend out in Disneyland. It's training week four. Long run is five miles. And big news, Princess Half Marathon weekend training starts on Tuesday. You know, in a way, in a way, I hate to see these coming because the season's going away. We haven't, we're we're doing our first race this week, and then we're talking about Princess. And the next thing you know, we'll be talking about springtime, and we go, oh golly, season's going away. But but no, let's let's put that behind us for now. Let's concentrate on this great week that is unfolding right before you. I hope, I hope maybe you're at the expo or listening on your way to the expo. Maybe you're flying down. You're going to be there later this afternoon. You got your ears in. Uh, it's gonna be fun. One of the things we thought we would talk about today, the gang here, is something that we wish we knew. I wish we did during our first run or our fiftieth run or whatever number. What is uh something, and we can do several things you wish you could relay to friends, especially to friends who haven't done one before.

SPEAKER_09:

Bob, if it's alright, I'm gonna start us out here, and I'm actually not even going to talk about running. I'm just gonna talk about the weekend in general itself. And that is if you are there by yourself or you're with family or with friends, but it's your first weekend. Do not be afraid to go out of your comfort zone and chat with someone and make a friend.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_09:

I I look back, I mean, we we were just talking about this the other week, Bob. The fact that you know we are now you and I and Alicia are celebrating our our 10-year anniversary of doing Run Disney, and for us, it all started at Wine and Dine. And I remember that particular weekend, you know, Grant. There, you know, for me, there was no customized training. Uh, clearly, there was no Rise and Run podcast. Literally, all I had was Chris Sapienza's Run Disney and Beyond Facebook group.

SPEAKER_06:

And we had a we had Alicia's too. She got started.

SPEAKER_09:

Yeah. Yes. And literally the only people that I interacted with that entire weekend is I chatted with you for about 15 minutes before we went off to our separate corrals and I chatted with my wife, and that was it.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_09:

And I look back on what my my Run Disney race weekends are now and how exponentially different they are. And while I have zero shame in how my journey has gone, knowing what I know now, I wish I would have randomly chatted with you know someone you know in in the corral or you know, waiting in line to get my bib at the expo. It's funny. Even though I'm on this podcast, I classify myself as an introvert. Now my wife will tell me that she thinks I'm full of crap when I say that, but it's it's a situation where if you can get yourself out of that shell and then be able to chat with someone, I think it can foster really wonderful relationships. It will give you the ability to maybe gain even more information about running itself or running at Disney or learning a trick about costuming or something like that. So, in terms of the 2025 Wine and Dine weekend, come to our meetup on Saturday afternoon. I guarantee you there are gonna be a slew of folks there who are going to be there with open arms and are going to welcome you into this community. And who knows, by the time Marathon weekend rolls around, you might be having dinner reservations with these people. Yeah, and they can absolutely change your life. So, again, if you are timid in that respect, please do not feel that, you know, feel free to get outside of your comfort zone and and just it it's just gonna make your weekend even more magical than it already is.

SPEAKER_06:

All right, I'm a little upset with you because that's uh pretty much where I was going. Oh but while while you were talking, I just realized something. The date this episode will air is October 23rd. You know what that means? That's a big day. The 23rd?

SPEAKER_09:

Yeah, it's isn't that our our five-year anniversary of Rise and Run?

SPEAKER_06:

22nd. 22nd is oh 22nd.

SPEAKER_09:

22nd. Happy birthday, guys!

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, it's uh I think it's four years though, Greg. I think it was 2021. Oh, you're right, you're right. I I I can't count. Well, I'll tell you what, Greg, the reason I figured that out was we're on episode 211, roughly 50 episodes a year. That's four years. But uh yeah, yesterday was our fourth anniversary. And it's also it's also what, John? My birthday. Happy birthday.

SPEAKER_10:

Expo day is birthday day.

SPEAKER_06:

Is it?

SPEAKER_05:

Oh yes.

SPEAKER_06:

Uh 22nd, the uh podcast anniversary date is uh our wedding anniversary date.

SPEAKER_05:

So much to celebrate.

SPEAKER_06:

Becky and I'll be there on our wedding anniversary. I'm gonna stretch what you said just a little bit though, Greg.

SPEAKER_08:

Go for it.

SPEAKER_06:

Uh same, same exact idea. But friends, I see a couple people in our rise and run family on Facebook saying, I'm making this trip solo. Okay, cool. You can come to Disney World alone, but uh you if you don't have to stay alone, right? You do not have to, unless you want to. Before every race, as we mentioned on last week's episode, before every race, the gang who is running that race, we get together, and we are to the left of the bleachers, facing the stage in the area where you start. If you've never been before, you'll figure it out pretty quickly. Come by. I'll be there, John will be there, Alicia will be there. You know us. You may never have met us, but you know us. So come say hi. We will be happy, we will be delighted to introduce you to the rest of the rise and run family that's there. And there are usually quite a few people, but not only that though, you will I can't guarantee it, but I can be pretty sure you'll find somebody to run with if that's what you want. First first race I did down there was uh this one. One and nine and a half marathon 2016. I trained by myself, I ran by myself. That's what I had planned to do all along. But you don't have to. You don't have to if you don't want to. John will run with you. I'll definitely run with you. Alicia'll run away from you. I only said that because Alicia's not here and can't defend herself. But but yeah. Uh and it doesn't have to be one of us. The neat thing, I remember a meetup that we had last year sometime. A young lady, I don't know who it was, came, introduced herself to me, and I said, Well, here's some of the Rise and Run family. Introduce yourself, or I think I may have introduced her. And then I kind of kept an eye on her because I wanted to make sure she was fitting in and feeling comfortable. No problem. No problem. She was with people the rest of the day, and that's just the way it is, guys. So you can come alone, but you don't have to stay alone.

SPEAKER_09:

Have the three of you ever watched How I Met Your Mother? The TV, yeah, sure. Okay, so I promise I'm going somewhere with this. Okay. Is like Barney Stinson, the character, the character that Neil Patrick Harris played. And you know, when when when Barney and Ted were always out on the prowl looking for women, what was the famous line that that Neil Patrick Harris would always say? Suit up. Well, suit up, yes. But have you met Ted? Okay. And to me, we are like that in Rise and Run. You just like you were saying in that story, Bob. I feel like our version of having uh Having Met Ted is have you met this person? Have you met this that person? There are so many people within our community and just the Run Disney community in general, that you can find you can find that new friend really, really easily. And and it I I think nine chances out of ten, it's really gonna work for you.

SPEAKER_06:

You know, we've got a um podcast we listened to segment coming up. I listened to the podcast we listened to this morning. I was out on a walk. They're talking about exactly the same thing. And they were suggesting I'm gonna steal it. I'm gonna steal this from AJ and Erica, who you'll meet in just a few moments. If if you don't want to meet up with us, you you got a leg up already. You've got your rise and run family. But if you want to do as Greg was talking, just somebody in the corral, hey, that's a nice costume. That'll get a conversation started. How did how did you make that? Hey, is this your first Disney run? And whether the answer is yes or no, you're gonna start a conversation. So I've I've stolen those from AJ. Thank you, AJ. And uh you'll you again, you'll meet those folks in just a moment. All right, so Greg and I have kind of dominated here.

SPEAKER_05:

Jack, John You guys already said what I was gonna say. Like, my story is like very extremely similar to Greg's. Like, let's be honest. Like, if it wasn't for the podcast, I'm very much an introvert. I didn't really talk to anybody uh besides um if I'm run if I'm running with a friend. You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, you don't even talk to me. I know that.

SPEAKER_05:

What's Bob? We all talk so much through our group chat. But yeah, I think I'll just reiterate kind of really quick, but seriously, getting putting your putting myself out there and and being able to talk to everybody has been such a game changer and has made the weekends so much so enjoyable. I mean, for a weekend that could be feel very stressful, you're around a lot of people that will make that stress melt away.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah. So come see us. Come say hi, come see us, come in. And look, we're not, I mean, does everybody love us? No. But but if you come over and you say hi and you go, geez, I don't want to talk to that guy anymore, what have you lost? Okay.

SPEAKER_10:

You're so psyched to get there. Get you at your first race weekend. If it's just your first race weekend, and you're so psyched you want to get to that start line and you want to blow through everything. I you know what, these aren't the races to go for time.

SPEAKER_06:

That's true.

SPEAKER_10:

Yeah. These are the races you just want to like take it all in because the the the theming, the the characters, the other people on the course, all that other stuff. It's just an enjoyment to see all that stuff on the course so that you get that in your m memory so that you know, oh yeah, I ran the uh half marathon. What was the course like? I don't know, I just ran a straight line. No, you know, no, no, yeah. Like you're gonna see some great stuff going through all the different parks. Well, not the just two parks, this course, and just what do you call have those great memories that you'll always think back at.

SPEAKER_05:

Yeah. Also, I will put this out there. Um, one thing I've learned, if we're gonna just say new things um that we've learned along the way, because I've made lots of mistakes. Like, obviously, I had fun, but I've learned mistakes as in knowing what I should eat and knowing what I shouldn't eat before the big race.

SPEAKER_06:

Hopefully you've worked that out in your training by now.

SPEAKER_05:

Oh gosh, yeah. But yeah, like if you're new and you're just excited, you're like, I'm at Disney, I want to go eat at this place, this place, and this place because obviously you're on vacation. Yeah, I get that. But right at least be the night before the your big, big race. If you're doing like, I don't know, like a half marathon or marathon, just be careful. Yeah, be careful.

SPEAKER_09:

Jack, I'm gonna piggyback off of what you're saying, but not necessarily in terms of nutrition, but just the physical nature of these race weekends, and that is if you have never done a Run Disney race before, or you know, maybe you're this is an instance where not only it's your first run, but it's your first trip to Walt Disney World. Sometimes you can underestimate the amount of time that you are going to spend on your feet in terms of sure. Okay, I have to go and and pick up you know all the stuff at at the expo. Okay. It's it's a little bit of a walk from the bus area to all the different buildings that house all the various stuff for the expos. You're gonna be visiting it as if you're buying merch and you're buying Brooks shoes, you're gonna be visiting three different locations within the ESBN Wild World of Sports Complex. You're gonna be on your feet standing around waiting for a bus, whether that's to go back to your resort from the expo, or if you're going to the theme parks themselves. Just the the park time alone, in terms of you know, walking from your resort room to the buses, and then the buses to the parks, and then the parks themselves, and standing in line for attractions and photos, that is going to take a little bit of a physical toll on your body. So you just want to be mindful of that and just remind yourself, you know, just not to push yourself too far, because as long as you do that, I think going now to what John was saying, I think that's gonna allow you the ability then to enjoy those wonderful entertainment elements and the actual race itself a lot more if you're not on super, super tired feet.

SPEAKER_10:

Yeah, like like for example, the walk from the bus stop in Epcot to this the reunion area is almost close to a mile.

SPEAKER_06:

It's yeah, it yeah, it's not quite, but anyway, it's it's if you're not used to it, you'd be surprised. You're gonna be walking a little bit. But you'll have people to follow. You won't get lost. All right, I've got some practical things. Sit down, or it's too late. Before you listen to this podcast, sit down and make a list of the things you need to take with you. Uh, it's too late for that. But uh that's a good one. Bring a bag. Bring a bag with you. Go to Target or Walmart or wherever you are, and just take one of those t-shirt bags and stuff it into your pocket because at the end of the race, you've got a banana and you're gonna get a box with snacks in it. You're gonna get a bottle of water, you're gonna get a bottle of Power Aid. You don't have to get any or all of this stuff. You're gonna get a metal, that's you gotta get. Uh you're gonna get when you finish, it's probably going to be warm. They're gonna hand you a towel that's gonna have soaked in cool water. I doubt they'll be handing out mylar blankets. I don't think it's going to be that warm. But you're gonna have all that stuff. It's kind of tough to juggle. So put a bag in your pocket or somewhere you can get to it after the race.

SPEAKER_05:

So um I'm gonna put a little plug in there. Um, I forgot. We have a um a video on YouTube that's like the 16 tips and tricks for race weekend. And it's a lot of it's directed towards um this weekend specifically, the Wine and Dine weekend. So if I um if you guys want to go ahead and check that out. Um, and uh yeah, hopefully it gets you some helpful tips and tricks.

SPEAKER_06:

All right, here's one you've heard before, but I don't mind saying it again because you're there now. Have fun at the expo. The expos you've there's things you have to do. You have to get your bib, you pick up your shirts. That's what you've got to do. Those are in two different locations, but the things you get to do are meet people. There's lots of people there. I'm gonna be hanging out there for a while. I don't know when I'll get there. I don't I usually do not get there first thing in the morning. John, you used to. You're gonna be there first thing in the morning on Thursday.

SPEAKER_10:

I'm I'm going for my my virtual queue. I will hopefully be, as this podcast is airing, getting my virtual cue and getting an early queue time because I like to get there early, get stuff done, and then possibly hit a park or something afterwards.

SPEAKER_09:

Well, as history has always shown, John usually goes.

SPEAKER_06:

So yeah, you will be there in the morning. And I think Alicia usually goes early too, I think.

SPEAKER_09:

I yeah, I think so.

SPEAKER_06:

And I usually don't worry about it. I usually get over there closer to lunchtime. Uh because I'm not that concerned with the virtual queue.

SPEAKER_10:

Going by springtime, if you really I I thought the sneakers were gonna sell out real quick. That's why I was really hoping for an early time and an early virtual queue. But uh there was people still buying sneakers and fill fully in stock on Saturday afternoon.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, they were they were buying them off the Brooks website on Monday, Monday or Tuesday. While you're at the expo, hey, if you're there right now, find the Jeff Galloway booth. I've I've mentioned this before. Do yourself a favor. Go say hello to Mr. Galloway, go say hello to Mr. Twiggs. Jeff and Chris. You will not find nicer people. You heard Chris two weeks ago. If you've been listening at all, you've heard Jeff on the podcast. If you've been running Disney all Disney at all, you know who Jeff is. Do yourself a favor and say hi to both of those fine men. What are your thoughts on taking the first bus from the resort to the race?

SPEAKER_10:

I like that idea. Because the some resorts share a bus and some of them don't, so you you're the earlier you are, the most likely you're gonna get on one of those first buses. And I know it's been a lot better in the last few years. And if they get lost, there's a lot more time for them to find their way back home.

SPEAKER_06:

You know, we we talk about that every race, and we talk about oh, the buses get lost, the buses get lost. I think I've been to, I haven't looked it up, 65 or 68 races. I've never gotten lost. Not one time.

SPEAKER_05:

Oh, you're lucky.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah. Nevertheless, I I have not. So I think that's a little exaggerated. The other advantages of being on the first bus are when you get there, there will be four sites set up for character photos, two on either side of the stage. If you get there early enough, you may be able to get more than one photo. If you take a later bus and you don't get there till let's say 4:15, 4:30, you'd be lucky to get one photo because the lines just get that long. Uh then the other advantage of taking an early bus, come find us. You have we have more time to chat. And I like that. I like having more time to chat with my friends.

SPEAKER_05:

Well, I'll also put this out there. I mean, if you're someone who wants to get on in like the front of their corral, right?

SPEAKER_06:

Good, Jack.

SPEAKER_05:

You you really want to make sure that you're probably on that first bus and then going after like checking and stuff, go straight to um where they will let you into the corrals. They may not let you in right away, but at least you know you're one of the first ones in there. So there is no way that anybody can um get ahead of you in that respect. You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_06:

They probably won't let you. If you're if you're on the first bus, that gate probably won't be open yet. But you are correct, Jack. You're in line then. If that's something that you you are concerned with and you want to get to the front of your corral, then yeah, being on an early bus helps you out. Be prepared for different weather. Now, this is Florida in the early fall, late summer. It's still warm here in Florida, but it could rain. So be prepared for that. You don't have to bring a poncho with you, but at least have one available in your pack so that you can grab it if you need to.

SPEAKER_10:

Another another thing, Bob, too, going with that with the weather, is I know some of us are gonna be running in costumes. You might have this really elaborate costume that you know, if we get one of those hot weather days where it might be 90 degrees, you might want to readjust your costumes.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, you might. It's if hey friends, it is not going to be 90 degrees at race time. It's not. It might, it could hit 90 degrees at three in the afternoon, but it's not gonna be 90 degrees at race time. Uh it could hit 80. That could happen. But I don't want to scare anybody, John.

SPEAKER_10:

It could be very warm or very cold.

SPEAKER_06:

Very humid. It's not gonna, it's not gonna be very cold either. Not we're well, we're 10 days out. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, we're we're close. What do you mean 10 days out? It's today. Oh, yeah. Stick your head out the door and go. Speak your head in the game. Um if you if you got a pair of sunglasses, bring your sunglasses. You won't need them for the 5k. You probably won't need them for the 10k, but there's a good chance you'll need them for the half. Depends on how the course goes. The sun's coming up at some point on that course, and if you're heading east, which sometimes we do, uh, the sun is tough. I wear a hat. A hat helps me in case it rains. A visor would do the same thing. Also help you a little bit with the sun. Hopefully, you have more than one pair of shoes if you're running more than one race. That's helpful. It's it's helpful to change them between races. And then if by chance one of your pairs gets wet, you've got a dry pair back in the room. Okay, friends. So there we are. It's race time. It is exciting. I know you're I hope you're excited. I know we are. And I wasn't kidding. I've done sometime this season I'll get my one hundredth medal. Now, that's not a hundred races, you know. Uh Dopey's a good example. I've done that five times, so that's thirty medals, but only twenty races. But having said that, being an old fart, I'm excited. I'm excited and I'm looking forward to seeing. But I hope that helps you out a little bit.

SPEAKER_07:

Caution runners, change of topic ahead.

SPEAKER_09:

So time for a segment that uh that we haven't done in a while, and that is podcast we listen to. And you know, I I know there's probably people out there are thinking, oh man, another Run Disney podcast. They they they probably all hate each other, and you know, they're they're in competition with one another. And here at Rise and Run, we say absolutely not. Uh a rising tide lifts off boats, and we love to see more players in the game. And a new one came across, at least my radar, a couple of a couple of months ago, uh, when we got tagged in an Instagram reel, and our our next guests were talking about their top five running podcasts, and needless to say, they waxed poetic about us for a really, really long time. So, guys, you need to let us know where to send the check. Uh we really appreciate that.

SPEAKER_11:

Absolutely. You can make that out to cash.

SPEAKER_06:

Cash, okay, cash, perfect. Venmo. Yeah, whatever it takes.

SPEAKER_09:

I watched it, I was floored by what they had to say, and then I re-watched it again, thinking that there's no way someone can be this nice about us. And lo and behold, they were. And since then, started listening, and I just love every single second of it. We would love to welcome AJ and Erica from the One More Run podcast. Gang, welcome.

SPEAKER_01:

Hey, thanks so much for having us.

SPEAKER_11:

Yeah, we are so thrilled to be on the Ryzen Run podcast, by the way. Like this is this is cloud nine for us at the moment. We we can just retire after this. This is it. This is we've reached we've reached our yeah, we made it. You guys are awesome.

SPEAKER_06:

I gotta tell you that I was I was a little reluctant because I thought, oh, this is just gonna look like we're sucking up, you know, because you were nice. All right, you you're nice to us, you can come on the podcast. But I gotta tell you, 100% candor. I really like what you guys do. I really do. I enjoy the podcast. I've listened to a couple of them, and it's outstanding, excellent stuff. I think our friends are gonna like it also.

SPEAKER_11:

Well, we definitely don't um like our intention uh with starting this podcast was to kind of share some tips and tricks for for new runners. It breaks our heart when we see someone at a race and they're having a bad experience because of stuff they didn't know, or maybe their expectation was off, you know. Uh, and so we really just want to share some of the things we've learned over the few years we've been doing this. And so you guys are like community family, like it is an unbelievable thing what you guys have built. And we are just thrilled to be a part of that. We're just kind of like over here in the corner, just sharing some tips and tricks that we learned. And that that's really what we're trying to do.

SPEAKER_08:

Bob, do you have your checkbook out again? Because they did it again. So I think we're gonna have to send another cash uh check to them.

SPEAKER_06:

That's nice. But I think I think what they're doing, uh honestly, I think is really good. Now, one of the things that's really I really enjoy about your podcast is this this nice banter that you have between the two of us. Do you guys know each other personally?

SPEAKER_11:

Uh yeah. We um we what's the word, Erica? Oh yeah, we're married.

SPEAKER_01:

We're married. Yeah, that's that's it.

SPEAKER_11:

Yep. How long have we been married, Erica?

SPEAKER_01:

Twenty-three.

SPEAKER_11:

Is that right?

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_11:

Yeah. Yeah. So we can give each other, we can give each other a hard time because we've we've known each other a while. Yeah.

SPEAKER_06:

I'm gonna get suck up points now. You don't look old enough, but that's okay. That's a good thing.

SPEAKER_11:

It's a filter. Filter on the on the zoom thing. All right.

SPEAKER_09:

So take us back to the origins of of one more run. Obviously, you know, you already told us about how you wanted to be able to provide those tips and tricks to you know new Run Disney runners. But what other motivations did you have uh to get this started, Erica?

SPEAKER_01:

Well, we started running, I did my first Princess Half in 2016. And when I did that first race, I knew nothing about Run Disney. I think I missed probably most of the weekend. Um, and then AJ and I started running in 2020, 2019. And um we since have sort of dragged several of our friends along with us. Um, they they want to do Run Disney with us, and so we just thought, like, what's a fun way that we could share some of the knowledge that we've learned, um, whether it be Run Disney or just running, you know, in general.

SPEAKER_11:

Um I think there's two two two thoughts is that we are sharing the same information all the time to all of our all of our friends and new new folks, which I'm sure you guys are used to. And we have no problem doing that, you know, because we could talk running and and run Disney all day long. Yes. But we found we just kept saying the same thing over and over and over again. So we, whether anybody listened to it or not, we thought, let's at least document it. Right. And then and then we have like a library of, oh yeah, look, here's how you deal with the virtual queue. And we could send it to it to somebody, you know. So that was part of it. And then um the the other thing is we just literally love Run Disney and love talking it and we love, you know, we we love doing this together, right? And so yeah, that's kind of the the origins of the podcast. I brought Erica like a uh a PowerPoint outline, you know what I mean, with all the episodes that I intended for us to do. So what I pro I proposed, this was back in July. Um, I proposed, uh, hey Erica, we got 29 weeks until marathon, which is our first race of this season. Why don't we do these 29 topics leading up to marathon weekend? And it was all the basics, right? So running in costume or how to fuel or whatever the, you know, whatever the topics are. And she, I I really expected some pushback, like, AJ, I don't think we're qualified to do this. Are you sure? And she looked at me, she says, sounds great. When do we start?

SPEAKER_06:

Nice, nice, that's outstanding. So you started, well, you're what 14 episodes in? Is that right?

SPEAKER_11:

Yeah, we just recorded 15 yesterday, and it's a good one. By the way, you got another shout-out. I'm so sorry. You got another shout out in this episode. That's the third check you can send. Go ahead. Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_06:

Well, it's it's uh it's touching. I'm honored. We're honored. That's great. Now you publish weekly. We do, yeah. Yeah. What date, what day do you drop?

SPEAKER_11:

Uh we drop it first thing Wednesday morning. Uh, if you're going for your your run, you know, Thursday, Friday, whatever. We want it to be there and ready for you. So drop it every Wednesday, and then we do little social media clips kind of to hold us over during the week. And so, you know, we're so excited about the episode. And, you know, you know, I don't want to wait till next Wednesday. So we got these little social media clips. We drop four or five throughout the week to kind of you know tease out either what has happened or is coming up next.

SPEAKER_06:

So oh, I think those are great. Those are and our friends can find those on YouTube, right?

SPEAKER_11:

Um, they're on YouTube. That's right. We do everything is AJ and Erica, right? And Erica sponsor name with a K. So um we're Instagram or um or YouTube. We put all those little social media clips. Uh the you know, the best performing ones, uh sadly, are the bloopers. We we put the bloopers online, and people seem to think that you know, laughing at us is funny. So we're we're okay with that.

SPEAKER_06:

I tried that, I did try to do that, and yeah, we were, yeah, it didn't didn't work for us, but that's okay.

SPEAKER_11:

It's because you guys are just too good.

SPEAKER_09:

Well, AJ, you know, talking about the you know these video clips. I mean, again, that's how I stumbled upon you, and and I gotta say the production value of those are amazing. Being being a video nerd myself, I think it it works very well that the two of you are not only co-hosts, but also married. So you know, you're able to get this awesome setup, you know, in terms of your house and you got a really nice camera. And I just I'm jealous because like you know, with us being spread out all over the country, you know, to do something like that it would would be really, really difficult. But I I just wanted to to give uh the two of you your flowers on that, you know, that they're really engaging and they're very, very well done.

SPEAKER_11:

Oh well, I appreciate you saying that. Can I just be honest and tell you that I cheat a little bit in that regard? Is that um I am I like video is what I do for a living. So look at that. I am not surprised, really.

SPEAKER_06:

It shows it shows in the quality of the production.

SPEAKER_11:

Here, here's the uh if you want to know, I'll just tell you now the biggest mistake we made when we started the podcast was doing starting it with video because video is so much harder and time consuming, and you have to like actually do your hair, you know, and all that. If you could have just done an audio podcast, yeah, that's true. That's true. If you'd if we'd have just done audio, we could probably just come down on our PJs, you know what I mean, and and record. So uh I do a little bit regret making it a video podcast, but it allows us to, you know, kind of oh yeah, share those things on YouTube and things.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, well, I think it's a great medium, and I think you're going to find more listeners or more viewers or a larger audience that way, too.

SPEAKER_11:

Hopefully, and and and the hopeful there is not like we're not trying to be influencers or something like that. We got the famous. We're not we're we're introverts, you know, by nature. What we really want to do is be helpful, right? So when someone doesn't understand how corral placement works and they've got all these questions about proof of time and they don't even know any of the things, if they Google it or they are listening, you know, regular listeners or whatever, they can hopefully find a clear, like normal person answer, not like some complicated thing, you know, and that that's what we're really trying to do.

SPEAKER_06:

And I think that is lovely for our listeners because we're at this five years now, and sometimes I think we gloss over or forget that stuff. And I think it's nice there's another resource there for that. That's great. Your name of the podcast again is one more run, right?

SPEAKER_01:

Yes.

SPEAKER_10:

How did we come out with that name?

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, so that that comes from me. So um I'm like a big Jeff Galloway, you know, run, walk, run type of person. AJ runs a lot faster than I do. Um, you know, he says crazy things like, I needed to run six miles today, but it felt so good, I just did like four more. Like I've never said that in my entire life.

SPEAKER_06:

Well, I I love the story about running to the rental car.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah. Oh, yeah, he does that all the time. Yeah, yeah. Um six miles from home.

SPEAKER_11:

Really six miles, yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

Six miles. And he does it on the regular. So anyway, yeah. So one time AJ was out running with me and I made some comment like, I just have one more run, like one more running segment before I can walk. And and he, of course, is like, one more run, like, yes, I can do another one. And so it means different things for us, but but it's it's it means something to both of us um when it comes to our running. So it just was a natural fit.

SPEAKER_09:

So the one thing I I did want to chat with the two of you about outside of the actual, you know, inner workings of the podcast itself is I forget which episode it was, but you know, the two of you made mention that you both used to work at Disneyland. What roles did you uh have as cast members?

SPEAKER_01:

So I worked on Small World at Disneyland.

SPEAKER_11:

Um, yeah, this was during college. These are our college days, right? So a few years during during college. It was not DCP, this is out of Disneyland. So Erica worked on Small World. Do you guys, and I don't know because you I think you guys are all East Coasters. Do you know what Innovations was at uh at Disneyland? So I worked in there. It used to be the old carousel of progress. And so uh I had a spiel, I got to, you know, I had a microphone and everything. Wow. So we did we did we did that during during college. Yeah. You know, the real reason we worked at Disney was so that we could get access to the parks and all that as college students. Yeah, we didn't actually do it, you know, because you know, for because I love small world.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, because you yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_11:

The song lives in our head forever, which is actually why we're going, Bob, which is why we're going to do the Disneyland half this year. Right. One, because it's the last one, but then the other, I looked at Erica and said, Oh, you have to do it. Right, because it's small world thing. Yeah, you have to do it. It's a small world theme. Like you, Erica, there's no option. You have to do it. So I th I talked her into it.

SPEAKER_09:

Yeah, I understand. All right. So you're 15 weeks into this venture in terms of at least season one, which I guess you're dubbing as you know, those 29 weeks leading up to marathon weekend. But once you get past all of your races, uh, you know, for this upcoming race season, what does the future hold for one more run?

SPEAKER_11:

Uh, Greg, if you have any ideas, we'll take it. Yeah.

SPEAKER_09:

You might have to return some of those checks then to us.

SPEAKER_11:

Yeah, but the royalties going right back to Rise and Run. You know, to be quite honest with you, we had a plan, you know, we had a plan for those 29 weeks, and and we're still really solid on that. But you know what we did not expect, and this totally surprised me was how um deeply people have engaged with us, and I'm sure you experienced this too, but how deeply they care about who we are and and our journey, and they really like the information, but they really just have engaged with us in a way that I did not expect. And it's not on social media, like it's offline, it's through email and all of that. And I'm like, Erica, I we can't quit now, we can't let them down.

SPEAKER_01:

And it's so much fun. Like, I just love doing it together. So we need to put it out.

SPEAKER_06:

No, it shows. I mean, yeah, you can't. Uh uh I you talk about Jeff Galloway. Jeff, it's not an exaggeration to say that one of my great honors of being through all this is Jeff Galloway is a friend of mine now. And uh a conversation I had with him one time and a quote that I have never forgotten. And we talked about this kind of stuff, and he just looks me in the eye and says, Bob, you can't fake that. And you guys don't fake it, and it it shows, it comes through in what you do.

SPEAKER_11:

Awesome. Thank you for that for that feedback. So, Greg, I don't know what uh January holds. We really want to make sure that the new runner, the new person to run Disney who doesn't know the inside language, uh, you know, that they feel welcome. And that's the feedback we keep getting is that they, you know, they they feel uh and and same with you guys, but they feel welcome and they feel like they can, you know, uh learn something without feeling like an outsider, right? And we really want to keep that vibe. I don't know how you do that, you know, multiple seasons down the road where, you know, we have already said this like 10 times, you know. So we really are on a journey to to figure out what's after this race season, but I think we're committed to doing it, right? Oh, yeah. Yeah. Okay.

SPEAKER_06:

Well, good. I'm glad you are, but it really is worthwhile and I hope it continues for a long time.

SPEAKER_10:

Okay, again, the uh podcast is one more run. So how would our listeners uh find you guys on your socials, uh pod podcast players or Facebook?

SPEAKER_11:

Yep, the easiest way I think is to hit the website. It's ajandarica.com. Erica spells her name with a K. So it's A J A N D E R I K A on all the things. The website's easiest because it links to everything, right? Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook. It's all AJ and Erica. And if you search one more run, it comes up on those on the Spotify and all that stuff. So um, yeah, that's how to find it. Yep.

SPEAKER_06:

It's worth finding, friends. Look for it. One more run, you're gonna like it. Erica AJ, thanks for spending time with us. We look forward to seeing you down.

SPEAKER_01:

Oh my gosh, thank you so much for having us. It really is like was the highlight of our month, yeah. It's just like, did you see the who texted us? And I was like, oh my gosh, we're thrilled to be here.

SPEAKER_06:

Thanks so much, guys.

SPEAKER_04:

Yes, thank you.

SPEAKER_07:

Caution runners, the topic is about to change right now.

SPEAKER_06:

Look, I know I said this during our interview. At least I think I did. This is a good podcast, and they they do that they're fun to listen to. I know everything they're talking about. I listen anyway. I I listen anyway, and I have fun listening to them. And I honest to goodness said it earlier. I was listening to them this morning, and I've already stolen some stuff, so I'll do that again. I'll do I'm sure I'll do that again. AJ, keep keep pumping that good stuff out, and Greg and I'll steal it. All right, friends. Uh, but give it a shot. Uh, one more run, the podcast. And you can't find it. It's easier to find on Apple, but you can find it on Spotify also. Bob, I got a question, Bob. Who's running this race this weekend? Well, funny you should ask that, John, because it's time for the 2025 Rise and Run Podcast, Wine and Dine race roll call. This is fun. We do it every race. We started it. We just said this is the fourth anniversary. You know, we did a race roll call for the 2021 wine and dine. Did you guys know that? I didn't remember it. Our good friend Rob, who is a huge help with putting this kind of stuff together, he put some data together for us. And in 2021, we did the wine and dine roll call. I don't know if you're looking on the sheet or not, guys. You want to guess how many people that we talked about that ran the challenge? Thirteen. Anybody else? I cheated.

SPEAKER_10:

I looked at it already, so I know the answer.

SPEAKER_05:

I I'm a horrible guesser. You're close, Greg.

SPEAKER_10:

Greg, you lost, Greg. You went over. You're close. Oh, dang. Should have went one dollar.

SPEAKER_06:

Ten. Ten people. I wonder how long that took us.

SPEAKER_05:

Oh, that's funny.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah. It was our third episode. Which is interesting. Because here we're we're at the anniversary, but the race was much later that year. It was middle of November. So it was episode number three. So we released one on the 22nd and 29th, and then February or November 5th is when we did it. There were 10 of us. This year, 147.

unknown:

Woo!

SPEAKER_06:

That's a different number, isn't it? I don't have the totals. We had one person doing the 10K that year. This year we have 27, 114 doing the 5K. What I'm telling you is, friends, it's going to take us a little while to go through the roll call, but it's fun. It's a tradition. And we want to get started in it right now. If you haven't been with us before, here are the rules. When you hear your name, we expect you to stand up, remain standing, until and hold your applause. Hold your applause until we go through everyone in that race. And then you can sit down. The one exception is if the fasten seatbelt sign is on, we'll uh cut you some slack.

SPEAKER_09:

Alright, here we go. Alright, we are starting off with the two-course challenge. We have Aaron, and Aaron is running their tenth year of the two-course challenge. Sounds right.

SPEAKER_06:

That's that's perfect, buddy.

SPEAKER_09:

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah. Uh John. John's birth. John's birthday is this week, too. How you doing? How you doing? How are you doing? I'm doing well. And Jordan.

We'll be we'll be if you're standing out on the edge and kind of looking like, do I know these people or not? Just give it a shot. Okay. We'll be happy to talk with you. What do you got to lose, right? What are you dressing as, John, for the 5K? I will let you know when I get down there.

SPEAKER_10:

Uh where's Waldo? You're talking about you are already there, John. Oh yeah. Uh it's I'm trying to find my costume right now, Bob. So I don't know.

SPEAKER_06:

I'm doing a uh I'm doing a uh Mulan characters at Lee Shun, the Shun Li. Oh maybe it's Shun Lee. Anyway, I'm trying to the warrior guy, right? Yeah, yeah. I'm trying to recreate that. I love wearing wigs. Okay. I don't have any hair, so I wear get to wear wigs on the races. It's fun. Uh and then for the uh the Olaf race, I'm doing was it Sven? Sven Sven. Sven.

SPEAKER_05:

Swen. Bob, have you seen Frozen?

SPEAKER_06:

Swen. Schwin Schwin. All right.

SPEAKER_09:

So so for the 5k he's going is Donnie Osmond, and for any for the 10K he's going, there's Schwin, the bicycle from from Frozen.

SPEAKER_06:

But I got a big blonde-haired wig. It's great. You know.

SPEAKER_10:

Actually, I I light. I'm getting tattooed up right now for my uh my costume.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, it's too to order the tattoos. But hopefully you got some. I'm I'm gonna get some.

SPEAKER_10:

I mean, my my character has tattoos that I'll be I'll be.

SPEAKER_06:

Oh.

SPEAKER_09:

I'm gonna get hold hold on. I want to go back to something you just said, Bob. You got a you got a blonde wig. Yeah. So you're not going as Sven, you're going as Christoph. I am? Yes. Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_06:

Because Sven is a reindeer. Sven's a reindeer? Yeah. Nah, I'm not a reindeer.

SPEAKER_05:

I was wondering how you're gonna make that work. I was like.

SPEAKER_06:

Well, you could you can have a blonde hair on a reindeer.

SPEAKER_04:

Well, Bob, you could just sing reindeers are better than people. Isn't that how he sings?

SPEAKER_06:

I have no idea. All I know is let it go. That's a hard one.

SPEAKER_05:

He's also a different character.

SPEAKER_06:

Anyway, yeah, 10K, you look for the tall old man with a big head of blonde hair. Christoph. Who doesn't know who he is.

SPEAKER_10:

If you're ever doing trivia night and it's frozen night, please bring Bob with you. Yeah.

SPEAKER_09:

Yes. Oh, the blonde-haired reindeer.

SPEAKER_06:

We'll nail it. We'll nail it. You know, that's what AJ was talking about. That how there are different Disney adults. I'm not, I don't know. I don't know the contemporary movies because my children had no children. I have no grandchildren. So I know the movies from my era. I'm talking Peter Pan and Old Yeller and Bambi and all that. I know them from my kids' era.

SPEAKER_09:

Um, I just named two of the most depressing movies ever. Old Yeller and Bambi.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_10:

Who cried when old Yeller got shot? Jeez.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah. I I remember my dad. I think that's that's the first movie. Old Yeller is the first movie I remember my father taking me to. Was it the first? I don't know. First I remember. Because I remember walking in, he goes, I don't want you to be upset. The dog dies at the end.

SPEAKER_09:

Boy, Bob just unpacked a lot of childhood trauma based on the movies that he just named.

SPEAKER_06:

I hope I didn't spoil the end of Old Yeller for anybody who hasn't seen it yet. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05:

Oh my gosh, such a sad movie.

SPEAKER_06:

Oh what else have I got in my quiver here that I can shoot downrange? I can't think of it.

SPEAKER_09:

What are you dressing up as the half so we can misidentify that?

SPEAKER_06:

Anyway, the point is there's a whole generation of Disney movies I know nothing about. And uh clearly Frozen is amongst them.

SPEAKER_05:

You should watch it. You can quote.

SPEAKER_06:

I may have watched it, to be honest. Greg's gonna really love this. One I have not been able to stay awake through the entire movie. The goofy movie.

SPEAKER_09:

Alright, folks. It was nice seeing you enjoy one and die. I'm done with this recording.

SPEAKER_05:

That hurts. That hurts.

SPEAKER_09:

Bob, Bob, you can see it.

SPEAKER_05:

It's okay. I still haven't seen the sound of music.

SPEAKER_06:

Ooh. That's my era. That's like 1968.

SPEAKER_10:

That was uh what's that on Sunday night, Bob, right?

SPEAKER_06:

Eventually it was. I thought I saw it in a theater. The wonderful world of Disney. Yeah, it could have been. But it would have been over a couple of weeks because it was a long movie. Yeah. There was a time when movies had intermissions. At the theater, not as a drive-thru where they're playing double feature, but there were a couple. Gone with the wind is a good example. If it's a long movie, it had an intermission, yeah. Titanic did, didn't it?

SPEAKER_10:

I think.

SPEAKER_05:

Oh yeah. Titanic, I'm like, yeah, because uh I remember we have like this like VHS set and it has like the breaks in between.

SPEAKER_06:

Titanic had an intermission? I didn't know that.

SPEAKER_05:

Oh yeah. Um, but Sandy actually has two VHSs because it's so long. I have it as like one of my keepsakes up here.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay. All right. Where have we uh trying to be? Are we still is it still Thursday? Are we still at the expo? And if so, what am I talking about? Oh yeah. I was talking about the meetup three o'clock Saturday afternoon at the food truck area. I think we've talked about it enough. I hope you are there. Hey, last night on our Zoom call. I'm sorry, two weeks ago on our Zoom call. By the way, there's no Zoom this week because we're all at Disney World. Our buddy Sam mentioned the Give Kids the World gingerbread run under the lights. Saturday, November 8th at 6 p.m. You got a code RISERISE for a 25% discount on registration. Anyone going? That's a that's a long trip for you guys.

SPEAKER_09:

I would love to go.

SPEAKER_06:

I may do it.

SPEAKER_09:

It it's I mean, Bob, you and I have been to the village for um appreciation dinners. It's such a magical place, and and to imagine it then just draped in in Christmas lights. And the fact that it's a nighttime race, that it just has to be an awesome experience.

SPEAKER_06:

My sweet wife has torn her rotator cuff. I told her, stop throwing the curveball. You're too old. Does she listen? Nope. Anyway, she's gotta have surgery. I think her surgery is that Tuesday. I don't know if she'll be travel ready or not. I know she won't be able to drive, which doesn't matter. She doesn't drive over there anyway. But if I can swing it, we'll see about going over there. Hey, next week's episode, wine and dine recap, race recap. Those are always fun. And now please stand clear of the door. It's time for a race report. The race report is sponsored by our friend Thomas Stokes, Stoked Metabolic Training. Stokes.fit slash rise and run coaching is the website. I I am looking forward once wine and dine is over to getting back to work with Tom. I'm cleared. I can go do stuff like that again. I have to take it easy, but um not only am I cleared to get back into the gym and do a little strength training, but I've got to get some weight off. I over these last eight weeks or so, I've packed on way too many pounds, which you can probably see if you find me walking around the uh expo. You can say, Is that Bob? He looks looks bigger than he used to, anyway. Uh, I'm gonna work on that. All right, with the race report. Now, of course, we told you up front this isn't live. So the best we can do here is acknowledge our friends who did run last week, but we have no reports yet. So, on Saturday, here's who is on the race report over in the Netherlands. Our good buddy Laura. I hope she gets over her and her husband John. I hope they get back over here to Disney World in the not too distant future. But Laura is doing the TCS 7.5 kilometer race. Here's one I keep saying I'd like to do sometime. I don't know if I'll get there or not. I've run in Louisville before, but Ashley and Courtney are doing the urban bourbon half marathon in Louisville, Kentucky. Uh course, I did the Kentucky Derby half marathon in Louisville. A little bit hilly, but not bad. Uh for Courtney, it's her first half. In Baltimore, Maryland, the Baltimore Running Festival, and all of these folks I'm about to mention are participating in the Chessie Challenge. Kelly's doing the 5K, Kim's doing the 5K, and Divya is doing the half marathon. In Kissimmee, Florida.

SPEAKER_08:

The big one.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah. Kayla, Danya, Kay, Jen, Tracy, Mary, Donna, and Margaret are doing the and catch this, folks. This is I'm not stuttering. This is not a typo. The Rise and Run 5K.

SPEAKER_08:

Has nothing to do with us. Clearly, our cease and desist letter did not go through.

SPEAKER_06:

Oh, that's okay. Uh who is it who wrote the rise and run cookbook? The Boston Marathon champion, Des Linden. The Rise and Run Cookbook.

SPEAKER_08:

Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_08:

Something tells me she's got better lawyers than we do.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, we were there first, though. We were by a week, I think. It wasn't by much, John. Yeah. We uh we incorporated first before they were published, but I don't think that really matters. All right. Let's go to Canada. The TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon Weekend 5K. Rachel is running that. Caitlin's in Wheaton, Illinois for the Cantigny 5K. And Sarah's in West Lafayette, Indiana for the Purdue Boilermaker half marathon. On Sunday, Rob is running the Heady Trotter Four Mile at The Alchemist in Stowe, Vermont. Bayshore, Long Island, New York. Megan has the Catholic Health Suffolk County Half Marathon. Pete has the Atlantic City Marathon in AC, New Jersey.

SPEAKER_10:

That's the third oldest running marathon in the United States. Yeah, that's kind of a big one.

SPEAKER_06:

I knew it was. Alright, what's second? Boston's the oldest. Yeah, I don't know either. I'm not looking it up. Anna and Amy are in the UK for the Hampton Court 10K at Hampton Court, the home of Henry VIII. I don't think he'll be there, but you know. Uh in Atlanta. Sherry, Patrick, Dorothy running the PNC Atlanta 10 Miler. Kayla and Stephen are running the Mission In Run 5K, 10K half in Riverside, California. Not sure what Kayla's running. Steven's running the half. Jared's got the Detroit International Marathon in Detroit, Michigan. Avery, Northampton, Massachusetts for the Happy Valley half. I thought Happy Valley was in Pennsylvania. Not so happy right now, by the way. Vicky's going to be in Naperville, Illinois for the Naperville Half Marathon. Jeff has the Des Moines Half Marathon, Des Moines, Iowa. In Columbus, Ohio. Tom's running the half marathon at the nationwide children's hospital Columbus Marathon weekend.

SPEAKER_09:

I hope we get a good race report from that one because I have heard that is an incredible race weekend. Because I guess something something to do with the you know the children who can from the children's hospital come out onto the course and there's like a remembrance smile and stuff like that. I've heard it's a very, very uh well-run event and uh one that people should put on their bucket lists.

SPEAKER_06:

Okay. Well, I I hope to hear about it. I really do, because we want to wrap up the races that are on the schedule back in the UK in York, the Yorkshire Marathon. Our buddy Andy's doing that one. And we'll we'll be sure to hear and see about that on the roller coaster of running Andy's YouTube channel. Friends, and if you run, you know you are our friend, and since you know you're our friend, come visit us at the expo. All right. We're looking forward to seeing you. We got the whole weekend. If you if we don't see each other at the expo, let's see each other before the races. And for sure, do what you can. Becky's starting to make cookies already. Oh, I guess he's got them already made now that I think about it. Yeah, okay.

SPEAKER_10:

Becky's already made cookies. And if you're lucky, you might get a sample uh at before the before the expo. Not before the expo, before the uh meetup.

SPEAKER_06:

Yeah, you can. We'll be at we'll be at Pop Century for this race. And we like to sit by the pedals bar in the evening and have a drink alcoholic or non-alcoholic, whatever your preference is on a race weekend. And Becky can't help herself. She's got to bring some cookies out. So if you're at Pop, you can visit us there too. All right, my friends. Clearly, no Zoom this week, even though it is normally is a Zoom weekend. We'll put it off till next week so you can tell us about your wine and dine stories also. Until we meet again, which hopefully will be really, really soon. Happy running.
