It's time to play Family Feud.
Speaker 1:Give it up for Steve Harvey.
Speaker 2:So I wrote to the company that I bought the sound effects from. I voiced my displeasure with the last time we did this, that they got my name wrong and they refused to answer my emails to which then I said do you know who I am?
Speaker 2:and they're like we don't care, so hence why we still have the same sound effects. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the rematch oh boy of podcast family feud. Before we get into the game, just just a quick advertisement here. This episode of Podcast Family Feud is brought to you by Alejandro's On the Go, the makers of cheddar cheese.
Speaker 1:Flavored pasteurized cheese snack a proud sponsor of Podcast Family Feud Because, as everyone knows, plastic cheese may or may not be nachos.
Speaker 2:But, ladies and gentlemen, welcome to this epic rematch. Our Patreons and the rest of the Rise and Run community have been asking for this and we are so happy and privileged to be bringing it to you today. So before we get into the game game, we need to meet our families. So let's first start with the will run for family. Thomas, welcome, welcome back. Thanks for joining us. I figured figured after all the animosity of the first game, that you might not accept this invitation, but we're so glad that you did. Welcome back, sir.
Speaker 5:Thank you for having us. We're happy to be back and we want to set the record straight. There was no animosity. I think all your listeners knew in their heart of hearts that that was some terrible cheating that you all did last time.
Speaker 2:So we're, here.
Speaker 5:I'm told that there is a fair and impartial judge.
Speaker 2:Yes, yes, thank you for bringing that up. We will get to that right here at the top of the show. My lovely wife has offered to step in as the impartial judge for today's proceedings. Now everyone would think, oh, it's Greg's wife, so she probably has allegiances to rise and run, and I would like the podcast listening community to know that when I made the call that plastic cheese and nachos were the same thing, she thought I was full of crap.
Speaker 4:So she actually sided with Will Run.
Speaker 2:For. So you can know where her allegiances lie in all of this. So she is in the other room standing by in case we need to elicit the services of a third-party impartial judging committee. So we want to make sure that everything is fair and square this time, so there is not weeks upon weeks of trolling after this episode releases.
Speaker 6:I'm not sure that we can guarantee that there won't be weeks upon weeks of trolling.
Speaker 2:I'm sure. I'm sure, but we try to get out ahead of it just in case. But anyway, let's get back into the game. Tom, tell us what family members you brought with you this time all right, bob, I got my lovely wife diana here hi lovely wife um, we brought the patriarch and matriarch of the will run for podcast family.
Speaker 8:So first the uh matriarch, aaron oh, I'm a matriarch this time, yeah, I don't know the difference and then the patriarch, despite what he's, despite what he's currently wearing, the patriarch of the family, michael I, uh, I'm inspired by the jesse the body, this episode, because we're gonna take them down and then we're we're so lucky to have him.
Speaker 5:He is. He is the proprietor of a much more polished and famous podcast. It is Doug from the Will oh my God, from the War on Cars podcast.
Speaker 1:The Will runs the cars.
Speaker 3:Will, yes, thanks, I'm glad to be here. Speaking of trolling, that is, I think, why I'm here, right? Yes, that is exactly why Doug is here.
Speaker 2:For those of you that don't know, doug was the one who organized the Rise and Run meetup during the New York City Marathon, where there was not one single host from Rise and Run, yet there were three hosts from the Will Run For podcast. So, doug, if we ever need to create a support group of people who have been trolled from those at Will Run, for it's going to be an exclusive club of two but we remain strong together.
Speaker 3:We're going to drown our sorrows in pineapple cider Absolutely Very nice.
Speaker 2:Will Run For. Thank you so much for joining us again. We are now going to head over to the other side of the studio and meet the rise and run family, and for this particular game, uh, unfortunately bob could not join us this evening, so we're going to call her the matriarch of the Rise and Run podcast. Alicia has taken over as team captain for this game. Alicia, welcome to the show. On a scale of 1 to 10, how nervous are you?
Speaker 9:Well, I still stand by my plastic cheese as nachos, so I'm going to go with a one All right.
Speaker 7:I like the confidence.
Speaker 2:This is bold. I'm here for it, I'm ready to live for it. But before we get into round one, alicia, you need to tell us what family members did you bring with you this week.
Speaker 9:Well, I have John with me today. Hey, how you doing Steve Steve.
Speaker 10:how you doing Steve Steve. How you doing Steve.
Speaker 2:I'm doing well. Thank you, John.
Speaker 9:Good to see you, lexi. Hello, jack Hiya, and we have an interim person, tony, or, as you might know, hollywood.
Speaker 4:Hello, hello. Hopefully, Greg, you can be a little partial to your roommate.
Speaker 2:I will do my best, but if I become impartial, hence why we have the judge next door.
Speaker 7:And I don't honestly know how impartial it'll be, because Tom's like thirsting over Tony already.
Speaker 5:Here's the deal.
Speaker 2:The problem is he has his shirt on, so I don't know how much thirst in there can be happening.
Speaker 5:Guys it's an audio medium, but man, is he a specimen? If you could see what we're all seeing, you would join this Patreon, and I'm about to. Is there a Tony level of your Patreon?
Speaker 2:We can consider it, that's for sure.
Speaker 5:We'll trade your feet. Picks, michael, get ready.
Speaker 8:Oh yeah, I have eight toenails, so we're all good.
Speaker 2:We'll call it the only yams in Hollywood level.
Speaker 7:Yes, there you go, yes, all right go, yes, all right.
Speaker 2:Well, before we get into the game, let's quickly go over the rules. We have five rounds of run Disney and Disney related questions. We surveyed 100 run Disney runners for these and we'll go through them as a typical family feud. The first family to reach 300 points will be our winner and they will move on to everyone's favorite round, fast Money, where again we'll be playing for pride, friendship and trolling rights. So let's get into the game. Give me Tom, give me Alicia, here we go. Here we go. Tom, tom, tom Tom game. Give me tom, give me alicia, here we go.
Speaker 8:All right, let's get our virtual handshake in here.
Speaker 2:All right, we got our hands on our buzzers. Here we go. Run Disney runners name, a popular race outside of run Disney and the Abbott world majors. I saw Tom's hand first. Space coast. Space coast survey. Says that is the number four answer. Says that is the number four answer.
Speaker 9:So, alicia, you have an opportunity here to see if you can get one through three marine corps.
Speaker 2:Marine corps survey says that is the number three answer.
Speaker 4:So so rise and run, you have a decision to make here?
Speaker 2:are you going to play or are you going to pass?
Speaker 9:What do you guys think If we?
Speaker 11:get one wrong, we still can continue right.
Speaker 4:You get three strikes. Yeah, we got to get three, right.
Speaker 11:Okay, because there's not much going on in this head right now.
Speaker 2:I should have said this up top, that's me always so we're even.
Speaker 11:I should have said this up top the top seven answers on the board, so three and four are off the board.
Speaker 10:I can only think of one, I don't know.
Speaker 11:Don't give it out yet jack okay no, yeah, I know, I know I'm in the mic. You guys want to play, or?
Speaker 5:pass. Which ones do you think?
Speaker 10:oh right um all right, all right, all right all.

Speaker 2:Strike one. That's quite alright, we move down to Lexi.
Speaker 11:Don't say what I'm going to say, lexi, look at me.

Speaker 2:Peachtree Road Race Survey says speak mind to mind, I'm gonna go with peach tree road race peach tree road survey says that is number seven on the board. Wow, so answers one, two, five and six remain.

Speaker 5:That looks like a face that's Googling something?
Speaker 3:No cheating, no cheating.
Speaker 2:All right, Jack, what's your answer here?
Speaker 11:I'm just so happy because no one said what I've been thinking this whole time. It's the only answer that I could think of.
Speaker 2:It's Bird in Hand Bird in Hand, yes, all right Bird in Hand Survey says that is the number one answer.
Speaker 7:Shut up Really.
Speaker 6:It's because you guys talk about it all the time and it's where they have their big meetups.

Speaker 11:Okay, I'm sorry, I can't remember the rules.
Speaker 1:What number is still open? Alright, john, I'm trying to remember the rules.
Speaker 10:No, it was before. It was a while ago. What number is still open?
Speaker 2:All right, john. Answer number two and answer number five, so two answers left, but you have two strikes.
Speaker 11:I think I know one Legitimately.
Speaker 1:Sorry, I'm so sorry I'm muting.
Speaker 11:I'm muting. I'm so sorry.
Speaker 2:I'm muting John what?
Speaker 10:do you think I'm thinking it's the Detroit Free Press Marathon? Is that the one?

Speaker 7:If you ever go to the show. I said we should have passed.
Speaker 3:I think we did pretty well. I read the room. I did really well. We did very well.
Speaker 6:The problem is that if they had gotten six and we had to pick one, we wouldn't have been able to steal.
Speaker 8:I would have totally forgot about Terralina anyway.
Speaker 1:But listeners, come on. Why is Tutto Italian not on there?
Speaker 7:It's literally the Italian restaurant, my next guest was literally the Italian booth at Food and Wine. I had no idea.
Speaker 8:That's a good one, though. The.
Speaker 10:Olive Garden outside. Yeah.
Speaker 11:I used to work there.
Speaker 2:Diana, fun fact In terms of the answers that we got, but that did not make the board, there were more answers for Pizza Rizzo than there were Tutto Italia.
Speaker 4:That is definitely what I submitted too. I definitely was a Pizza Rizzo than there were.
Speaker 9:Tutto.
Speaker 1:Italia.
Speaker 4:That is definitely what I submitted too I definitely was a. Pizza Rizzo person.
Speaker 1:Oh my gosh.
Speaker 2:All right. Well, what an epic steal by Rise and Run. So at the end of round three our score is Will Run for 164. Rise and Run 84. They're finally on the board. We move to round four, where points are doubled. Give me Jack, give me Michael, here we go.
Speaker 1:I'm going to get Michael. Oh, my God.
Speaker 2:Round. Four Points are doubled. Oh gosh, top four answers on the board. We surveyed 100 run Disney runners Name. An on-course announcement voiced by Riley Claremont, michael.
Speaker 8:Oh God, I don't pay attention to any of this stuff, what I should not have ran. I'm going to say caution, speed bumps ahead. All right, that's a good answer.
Speaker 2:Survey says that is the number one answer. Caution runners speed bump ahead.
Speaker 11:I just want to note this. I thought I was raising my hand, but I actually pressed the button to mute myself.
Speaker 2:Alright, so we'll run for it.
Speaker 1:The way that your computer shaked. I could tell that because it was doing like this. I'm like she's pressing the wrong button hand on the buzzer jack.
Speaker 2:I thought I did all right once again, team will run, for you need to make a decision. Are you going to play or you're?
Speaker 10:going to pass?
Speaker 3:Oh, I would pass.
Speaker 8:I don't know any of these.
Speaker 3:You said the one. I know there's one other that I can think of.
Speaker 6:I know like three of them.
Speaker 8:Yeah, but you do.
Speaker 6:I know.
Speaker 11:I know, do I go first?
Speaker 1:Don't say anything yet. You're not on the right team, Jack.
Speaker 6:I guess we can go Once again.
Speaker 3:I'm going to ask can Aaron go three times? Clarifying question. Clarifying question.
Speaker 5:Who is Riley Claremont?
Speaker 6:Oh, my God.
Speaker 5:The.
Speaker 2:Run Disney race. Announcer. That does the interviews. Stop it.
Speaker 8:Yes, he does the interviews Tony's buddy.
Speaker 7:All right, nerds, let's Okay.
Speaker 5:I say we play, we love Riley, we all right nerds, let's okay.
Speaker 8:I say we love riley, let's make it, let's make it interesting, let's play.
Speaker 6:Oh, all right, oh man, oh, this is good, all right, all right so we'll run for is going to play. I'm even gonna make it to me to get the, the one that I know for sure?
Speaker 2:no, probably not doug name, an on-course announcement voiced by Riley Claremont. This was a mistake.
Speaker 7:I've got one.
Speaker 3:This was a mistake. Yeah, I am just going to guess. I'm going to say course narrows.
Speaker 7:God damn it. Oh, survey says that was the one I knew, yeah.
Speaker 8:Yes, it's getting back to Aaron that is number two.
Speaker 2:Caution runners Course narrows ahead.
Speaker 6:I was one of them, you've read the one All right.
Speaker 3:Can I just that's the only one I know.
Speaker 7:I just need to say something. Can we check the tape of the last time we did this and see how many times I told us to pass and I got ignored? And then those are the rounds we lost. And when this happens again, it is on you. And I'm defecting to the other podcast.
Speaker 6:I said to pass this one. This was one, because there's only four answers Wait do I have to go?
Speaker 8:I would edit this out Newcomers this is where I edit.
Speaker 2:We move to Tom Tom. Two answers left, but no strikes so far.
Speaker 5:Make way for the closing doors.
Speaker 1:Make way for the closing doors that famous.
Speaker 2:Run Disney phrase you hear on the monorail.
Speaker 3:When you're running through the monorail station and through the monorail itself. All right Survey says Hold on.
Speaker 5:That was obviously.
Speaker 10:Oh, come on.
Speaker 5:What is this? All right survey says hold on that wasn't that.
Speaker 2:That was obviously.
Speaker 5:That was all right, all right, go ahead, go ahead. Impartial judge there. No, I mean if, if no, go ahead, tom go. I don't really have one. What did they say? Runners, move to the right.
Speaker 7:Yeah, that'd be nice if they said that once.
Speaker 2:All right Runners move to the right. It's not even the right time. Runners should be on. Damn it All right. One strike to the right surface says oh, one strike. The first one didn't count. Diana, what do you?
Speaker 7:got everything about that was wrong.
Speaker 3:I'm just now imagining that Tom pulled a Rosie Ruiz and got on the monorail and then took it back to Epcot and finished the marathon in like two hours.
Speaker 7:That's where he finished. Let's see. Reduce lighting, caution runner. Reduce lighting. No light, it's dark. I don't know Something like that.
Speaker 2:Caution runners it's dark outside. 't know something like that.
Speaker 7:Caution runners, it's dark outside survey says you're backstage now it's dark two strikes.
Speaker 2:It's up to aaron, who might have an answer.
Speaker 6:Let's see I know I like I feel like I was combining multiple ones, so I'm not 100 sure now, um, is there like a sharp left turn ahead or sharp turn ahead?
Speaker 5:yeah, that's a good one, that's a good one yes yes, sharp, yep all right.
Speaker 3:Survey says nice work number three answer caution runners sharp turn ahead okay, yeah, all right, we move to michael.
Speaker 6:I can hear the caution runners part and then my brain is like what's the ask?
Speaker 2:All right, Michael, there is one answer left, but you have two strikes.
Speaker 8:Okay, I am going to say caution runners, leave your space blankets behind.
Speaker 5:What? Okay, all right, good luck, doug.
Speaker 3:All right.
Speaker 10:I have no comment, that's strike three.
Speaker 2:Space blankets survey says that's the third strike, we move over to rise and run from steel. Do we need to?
Speaker 9:debate Boardwalk is slippery Boardwalk is slippery.
Speaker 4:I could not think of one that's perfect.
Speaker 2:Is that what we're going with Rise and run?
Speaker 4:Yes.
Speaker 5:Go with the one about the monorail doors.
Speaker 11:I am really silenced myself. This is great.
Speaker 3:Please squeeze into the Skyliner.
Speaker 2:If Boardwalk is Slippery, is on the board, this game gets very, very interesting. If not, we have some tabulations to do for potential fast money Boardwalk may be Slippery.
Speaker 6:Survey says boardwalk may be slippery survey says rise and run with another epic steal, I feel like we wouldn't answer, no matter what. We would have been screwed, though, because even if we had given it to them, they would have swept that how many?
Speaker 8:oh yeah, they would have got.
Speaker 9:Oh yeah I had all the answers, yeah, they would have got you had all the answers, so tony all the
Speaker 10:answers so, tony lose your part, so they take it and we can steal the game.
Speaker 8:That's fair. That's a good quote, good strategy.
Speaker 11:Or you can just Superman it and distract them. There you go.
Speaker 4:I almost died on the boardwalk at Wine and Dine. I did a jump shot. It is very slippery.
Speaker 1:Not your time. Terrible decision. Listen to Riley on the boardwalk at Wine and Dine. I did a jump shot.
Speaker 8:It is very slippery when you come down. It was a terrible decision. Listen to Riley If you were in your space blanket, you would have just died.
Speaker 7:I'm actually surprised Tom didn't get that because he refuses to run on the boardwalk.
Speaker 2:That's true, it's one of his least favorite places.
Speaker 6:Yes, he refuses to run listen we are not a a run disney podcast, so these questions are unfair all right, all right.
Speaker 2:So at the end of round four, like I said, with that steal, this game is very interesting. Now Rise and run. 262 points, team will run for 164. It's going to come down to the last and final round. Give me Hollywood, give me Doug.
Speaker 3:Here we go. Can I switch teams at this point?
Speaker 2:on your hands.
Speaker 3:I would suggest I have to troll you guys even in the midst of all this. I love you all man this is the uh.
Speaker 7:We'll run for podcast. I would have said what are you me in college?
Speaker 2:all right, gentlemen, hands on your buzzers the right points here are tripled, so we will definitely get a winner out of this one. I promise you that we surveyed 100 Run Disney Runners Top four answers once again on the board Name a color of Powerade, Tony.
Speaker 4:I don't like it, but red.
Speaker 2:Red Survey says that is the number four answer. Doug, you have a chance here.
Speaker 3:I'm going for the only color I like, and that is blue.
Speaker 2:That is blue Survey says Blue is the number one answer. Yes, We'll run for difficult decision here.
Speaker 6:How many answers are on the board?
Speaker 2:There are four answers, and two of them are gone already.
Speaker 5:All right, we're playing, 100%, they're playing, we got to play.
Speaker 2:Okay, all right. Yeah, we move over to Tom Tom. Name a color of Powerade Purple, purple Purple. Survey says that is the number three answer on the board, so we have one answer left. We move over to diana it's absolutely your favorite that's cheating.
Speaker 7:It is not because, because blue is my favorite. It's like he doesn't even know me.
Speaker 6:Yellow yeah because I wasn't cheating.
Speaker 2:I'm sorry, what was that, Diana?
Speaker 7:Yellow, yellow.
Speaker 2:All right, if yellow is on the board it is a sweep and Will Runford goes on to play fast money. If not, we keep going Yellow. So survey says Yellow, survey says We'll run for With the victory of the round and of the game.
Speaker 6:That's funny. Oh no, congratulations, that's a good point.
Speaker 2:I don't know, does this soften the blow from last time? Do we feel better about ourselves here?
Speaker 11:You gave one of the answers in the beginning.
Speaker 2:Yep.
Speaker 1:Plastic cheese all over. I mean, come on, compared to the other questions, that was pretty easy, yeah.
Speaker 7:And someone sabotaged Jack's button. Look, we swept the easy categories. What can I say? That's what we'll run for. That's our essence.
Speaker 2:I take it back I would like to stay on, we'll run. Well, I will say what this means now is, since it's one, the one. That means at some point in the future we'll have to have the rubber match. So if folks want to see that, we'll have to let us know. But we still have one more game to play, though, and that's Fast Money, so I'm going to need two people. Who is it going to be?
Speaker 8:What about Tom and Aaron?
Speaker 7:Tom and Aaron. Oh God, okay, all right.
Speaker 2:All right, Tom and Aaron. Okay, who's going to go first? Okay, so, Tom, you need to take off your headset please. All right.
Speaker 6:Oh God, I'm so scared I can't believe I got. How did I get volunteered for this?
Speaker 10:You can always do, uncle Doug.
Speaker 3:Doug went like this, though I feel like I'm just a guest on the Will Renfort team, so you know if you guys want to.
Speaker 10:You host a great meetup that we never attended.
Speaker 1:That's true.
Speaker 8:Cookies are amazing.
Speaker 7:Tom is so honest he could kind of hear. So now he's moving completely.
Speaker 2:What a sweet, sweet man. All right, so, just like last time, we don't have an official timer. But, erin, I just need you to be as quick as you can on your answers here. I'm fast, all right. The uh, the. The fake timer will begin after I ask the first question. Here we go. We surveyed 100 run disney runners. Name a run disney race announcer john pelkey. Name an Abbott World Major Marathon.
Speaker 6:New York City Marathon.
Speaker 2:Name your favorite World Showcase pavilion.
Speaker 6:Mexico.
Speaker 2:Name your favorite table service or quick service restaurant in Animal Kingdom.
Speaker 6:I was going to say Nomad, nomad, that doesn't count, oh gosh, that's fine, that's fine. Okay. Name your favorite running fuel company um honey stinger all right, excellent work, my friend.
Speaker 2:All right. The first question was name a run disney race announcer. You said john pelkey survey says John Pelkey Survey says 35 votes.
Speaker 7:Not bad, not bad All right.
Speaker 2:Good answer Name an Abbott World Major Marathon. You said New York City Survey says 30 people.
Speaker 7:Said New York City Pretty good.
Speaker 2:All right, name your favorite World Showcase pavilion. You said Mexico. Survey says 31 people. Question four Name the best restaurant table service or quick service in Animal Kingdom. You said Nomad Lounge. Survey says 12 people.
Speaker 8:More people need to go there.
Speaker 7:No one should go there.
Speaker 2:And then name your favorite running fuel company. You said Honey. Stinger Survey says 28 people. All right, Erin, excellent job. You scored 136. So with being well over halfway to 200, I would call that pretty good. All right, let's bring tom back into the room.
Speaker 3:Hannah back all right, welcome back, sir, okay.
Speaker 2:All right, the lovely matriarch of the Will Run For a Podcast scored you 136 points, oh my God.
Speaker 2:So she did a lot of heavy lifting for you but sometimes a lot of heavier lifting in the first round makes it more difficult in the second. But we'll see if you can win fast money here. The fake timer will begin after I ask the first question. If you repeat an answer, I will make a very obnoxious sound effect with my voice and you need to come up with a different answer. Are you ready, my friend? I am ready. All right, here we go. Name a run Disney race announcer.
Speaker 5:Carissa.
Speaker 7:Name an Abbott world major marathon australia.
Speaker 5:What most popular answer? It should be top of mind name your favorite world showcase pavilion. Austria, norway, norway, norway.
Speaker 7:The worst.
Speaker 2:Name the best restaurant table service or quick service in Animal Kingdom.
Speaker 7:Can't wait for this.
Speaker 5:Oh, what's the one with the Dole Whips? The bread one, the bread one.
Speaker 3:Guys, I take it back. I would like to play.
Speaker 5:What is that Diwali Diwali thing Dia house.
Speaker 2:Dia house. Okay, Name your favorite running fuel company.
Speaker 5:Cliffs.
Speaker 1:I should have played.
Speaker 10:What just happened. Is there negative points allowed?
Speaker 4:in this. What was he doing when he left?
Speaker 1:the room.
Speaker 9:You went by the answer. Person who had fake nachos date as their name? Oh, my.
Speaker 8:God, can we get Tom?
Speaker 2:alright alright, let's see. Let's see how you did here Tom we're never living this down snatching defeat from the jaws of victory listen, listen, regardless of what they're saying about you. Tom, I love you.
Speaker 5:And that's all that matters. That's all that matters.
Speaker 10:You better hope that Carissa's like 64 points okay.
Speaker 4:Tom, do you start in Mexico or Austria when you go to M&M's?
Speaker 5:Yeah, I deserve that one.
Speaker 1:There are like 800 other per million.
Speaker 5:yeah, I deserve that one I figure like mexico is number one, right, all right all right, here we.
Speaker 2:Here we go, let's get to it. Name a run, name a run disney race.
Speaker 7:Announcer you said carissa galloway survey says 50 people said carissa galloway oh, we still have a chance. I don't think he's got 10 between needs 14 oh god to win Australia.
Speaker 3:zero people said Australia.
Speaker 5:It's top of mind. Does that count?
Speaker 2:Name an Abbott World Major Marathon. You said Australia. Oh my god, I'm sweating Because I love you so much.
Speaker 5:You don't have to give it to me.
Speaker 2:Three people said Sydney.
Speaker 3:Wow, yeah, so I'm going to give you that one. Two of them are on this call.
Speaker 10:You sure it wasn't Austria.
Speaker 3:I like to cross the finish line with a wiener schnitzel.
Speaker 2:Now, he did. He did say. He did say norway at the end. All right, so name the your favorite world showcase pavilion. You said austria, but then changed it to Norway. Zero for both. Survey says.
Speaker 8:Five people said Norway, oh my god, that's amazing, that's only because of Frozen.
Speaker 1:But how many said Austria?
Speaker 2:Name the best restaurant in table service or quick service in animal kingdom? You said diwali, the bread place where you can get the dole whips. Nobody said that. So it all comes down to the final question.
Speaker 9:Can we just take a moment?
Speaker 4:I know we're an audio-only podcast, but Jack is eating popcorn, like this is a movie.
Speaker 1:On the edge of our seat.
Speaker 10:Six points, six points we're looking at. We can do it, we can do it.
Speaker 8:All right, here we go. He talks about goo all the time and then said Cliff is insane.
Speaker 11:In defense. I use Cliff and I use him for my ultras.
Speaker 6:I will say that, I said honey. I said honey, I want to talk about goo all the time and I specifically didn't say goo because I assumed Tom would say goo.
Speaker 3:He also didn't say cliff, he said cliffs plural.
Speaker 8:You've got to eat a few of them in a row.
Speaker 2:All right, name your favorite running fuel company. You said cliff or cliffs, or some iteration of that. You need six points I can't breathe survey says and this is no joke five people how many said goo?
Speaker 8:how many said goo?
Speaker 2:goo would have been the number two answer at 24 votes. So unfortunately we'll run, for you came this close to winning first.
Speaker 6:I specifically said Pelkey because I knew Tom loves Carissa. Hey, don't make it weird. Don't make it weird. I based some of my answers on knowing Tom when.
Speaker 7:I heard the questions, I knew it was going to be bad.
Speaker 6:I was like I'm going to go with the second answer because Tom's gut reaction is going to be this answer and this answer all right, let's uh.
Speaker 2:Before we wrap up, let's go through the number one answers here real quick. Uh, obviously, tom got it correct. Carissa galloway was number one answer for uh run disney race announcer. Aaron, you got new york city correct for Abbott World Major.
Speaker 3:I mean Boston, boston number one.
Speaker 4:New York is probably top of mind.
Speaker 2:New York was number one.
Speaker 8:Boston was actually number three on the list London, berlin, number two was Chicago.
Speaker 2:Name your favorite world showcase. I mean Mexico was the number one answer, not Austria. Name the best restaurant table service or quick service in Animal Kingdom.
Speaker 11:The number one answer was.
Speaker 6:Yak and Yeti. I thought Yak and Yeti and I was like Tom's going to say that immediately Also.
Speaker 7:Tom was thinking about Sanaa in Animal Kingdom Lodge yes and there
Speaker 2:were several people who wrote Sanaa. Yes, so you're not. You're not totally wrong there, tom. So all right, well, close, but no cigar. But based on the sore cheeks of all of us on this recording, I would say that, even though they didn't come away with the fake ten thousand dollars, I think we all had a ton of fun. Um, but we did get a bunch of announcements, uh, today, you know, in terms of like test track is going to be opening sometime in the summer of 2025 and the was that the epcot lounge and the pirates lounge will. Um, was it the epcot Lounge and the Pirates Lounge? The Epcot Lounge is going to be open in the spring, so maybe that will be open in time for Springtime Surprise. And then they said the Pirates one would be open at the end of 2025.

Speaker 10:In the spirit of Family Feud. Jack and Alicia, I got a fast money question for you, or big money? That's wrong show.
Speaker 2:Fast money, fast money.
Speaker 10:Fast money. Top answer on the board. What ride is staying all of 2025 this year?
Speaker 11:Alicia, oh yes.
Speaker 10:Dinosaur, Even though Alicia got it. Yes, Dinosaur will be around all of 2025. So we should a little longer for us to get on that ride and finally get our final ride.
Speaker 9:I'm so hopeful that they're gonna just like redo the outside, maybe like retheme it a little bit, but keep the dinosaurs and like the whole main premise of it, because I don't know, like can't. What's that kid's name in the movie? He?
Speaker 11:can hear he could talk to animals. Animals, can he talk to dinosaurs? They're animals. Yeah, they were, they were. They're a little prehistoric, but you know it's fine.
Speaker 11:Hey, he time jumps or they're just listening to people, because people are saying it's their favorite ride and they really are just making bad decisions left and right with especially with the whole muppets thing being rock and roller coaster. They need to, they need to step back. Put some good light out there with dinosaur. They'll realize their wrongs and the world will be better for it, you know listen, I'm very happy.
Speaker 2:When I saw the news today, I was ecstatic for the three of you but obviously the only reason why this is happening is because if you take dinosaur down, there's gonna be apparently anything to do. An animal so it kind of makes sense. But again I'm very, very happy for the three of you, so again you can enjoy dinosaur for at least one more year oh, oh.
Speaker 11:And if you want to support um the, a really nice t-shirt for dinosaur um the lost brothers, courtesy of greg sending me a link to it, has a really awesome dinosaur T-shirt. I bought one the minute their Black Friday sale started.
Speaker 2:Oh, lost Bros, yes, yes, yes, lost Bros, there you go.
Speaker 11:Yeah, I bought that immediately and I think we should all be twinning out there.
Speaker 2:Personally, listen, I have this idea for the marathon weekend meetup, where but I guess now that it's gonna be open all 2025, we could do this for any race weekend, uh, next year where we start the meetup at dinosaur and then we take a bus over to hollywood studios and then we all go watch muppet vision together and then, like, end at baseline tap house or something like that. Just just just an idea to throw out there for all of us that are sad that our our favorite attractions are going away I have multiple dinosaur shirts that I could wear.
Speaker 9:I have a vegetarian one, and I also one that has one that says um, don't something about, like, don't stop being powerful, um, so I could go multiple times, jack. Good, I'll just keep keep rewearing my shirt.
Speaker 11:Okay, I do have one other shirt, but um, um, it's not a great quality, all right.
Speaker 2:Well, you know, speaking of that, that idea of um, a meetup for marathon weekend, let's talk about training in the various weekends coming up marathon weekend, Can you guys? Can you guys believe this? We're less than five weeks away from marathon weekend, can you guys? Can you guys believe this? We're less than five weeks away.
Speaker 9:You know it's crazy weekend.
Speaker 2:We are in training week number 23. You obviously had that huge simulation last weekend. We are so incredibly proud of each and every one of you for getting through that simulation. And guess what? Even if you fully didn't get through that simulation, and guess what? Even if you fully didn't get through the simulation, we are equally as proud of you as well too. Again, remember, this is the hard stuff. The fun and the finish line, the victory lap, that's when we actually run the race in January. But again, we have a little bit of a break now, since you're coming off the long simulation. So this week, your mileage, regardless since you're coming off the long simulation. So this week, your mileage, regardless if you're doing marathon, the goofy challenge or the dopey challenge is six miles up.
Speaker 2:Next on the docket is the disneyland half marathon weekend. We are in training week number 10. This one is a double up. If you are doing dumbo, that is a two mile walk followed by a nine and a half mile run walk. Then after that, princess Weekend, 11 weeks away.
Speaker 2:Training week seven Low mileage this weekend is three miles with a magic mile. So again, if you have not done that before, mile one is a warm up. Mile two is your all out magic mile. So again, if you have not done that before, mile one is a warmup, mile two is your all out magic mile and a mile three You're just back down to your long run pace. And this was the one that shocked me the most. We are in week one of springtime surprise training. This week we are 17 weeks away, training week number one. And if you're doing the 10 miler or you are doing the challenge, remember the challenge for this race weekend is all three the 5k, 10k and the 10 miler. Your distance there is three miles for this weekend. So obviously lots of training miles on the books, but let's talk about our training. Jack, I believe there was something you wanted to mention about something you did this past week.
Speaker 11:Yeah, I had my last long runs of training for my 100 miler. So I had to do 20 miles on Friday, 20 miles on Saturday and another 20 miles on Sunday, so a total of 60 miles in three days and that was my Thanksgiving break. But it's very interesting, Honestly, to be real. If you look at Dopey or Goofy, that right there is basically an ultra to me. I mean, you're doing multiple long runs, You're really putting in the miles.
Speaker 11:One thing I really kind of want to say, and I feel like this weekend especially, I had amazing runs. I thought all of them went really like. I had an amazing like runs. I thought all of them went really well and that was really shocking.
Speaker 11:And you also have to kind of remind yourself and I think this is just from, I guess, running for so long it's like you have to realize you have to be kind to yourself, you have to be kind and you have to be patient, because not everything is going to happen the way you want it to.
Speaker 11:But in the long run pun intended right there it will all turn out great in the long run because you trained and you put in the time, you put in the effort and you can trust your training and it will get you to where you need to be. And with that being said, um, I have less than two weeks now for before the 100 miler and, although the runs went great, it makes me nervous, and I know I just said, trust your training and I am um, but it's just kind of uh, I was talking to Adam today cause we um, he's going to be crewing for me for this race and I did a lot of math, you guys. So I looked at one of the days that I ran and guess how many calories I burned in that one run for 20 miles 20 miles, 3,000?.
Speaker 11:No, no, not that much. 5,000. No, do you want me to 5,000. No, do you want me to say it? Yeah, okay, 1,000,. Was it 1,850 or 1,950?
Speaker 10:I think it was close.
Speaker 11:Yeah, yeah, it was really close, and so we were talking about food today, and I think this is kind of helpful because you also have to kind of practice the food that you're going to be using, or fuel you're going to be using while you're training, especially on these long runs. So I did the math If I were to do a 24-hour 100-mile ultra, I will be burning close to 10,000 calories in a span of a whole day. Thousand calories in a span of a whole day. With that being said, we talked about fueling on the family feud, and my math for this is is if I were to do goo chews, I would have to have 192 gummies of goo chews and for that, for the whole race, it'll be 2,160 calories.
Speaker 11:And, funnily enough, I am a Clif Bar user. So Tom is not wrong. And the calories for that it's depending on which one I choose. I put it's either 250 for the chocolate chip or the 260 for the peanut butter. But if I were to go 250 and I have eight bars for the entire 24 hours, I'm still burning a total of 2,000 calories. I don't even know how I'm going to get to 10,000. I think that's unrealistic.
Speaker 9:But we believe in you, Jack.
Speaker 10:Just go to Pizza Rizzo Carbload.
Speaker 9:Take a stop in Austria.
Speaker 11:Well, the good thing if I were to stop in austria. Well, the good thing if I were to stop in austria. I've never been to. Well, technically austria would be, I've never been there, but at least I've been to deutschland, so I feel good, I can speak some, some of the language and get a little bit further, I guess.
Speaker 2:Well, Jack, we're so excited for you I mean, two weeks can't come fast enough and we're going to be so looking forward to just watching your little dot go all throughout the greater Daytona area.
Speaker 9:Enjoy your tapered time You're going to smash it yeah.
Speaker 11:Thank you.
Speaker 2:Don't get too much of the taper crazies.
Speaker 11:Well, it's crazy, though. If I were to combine all of my 20 milers that I did this weekend, it took a total of almost just over 12 hours, so theoretically for 60 miles. If I were to do 40 more miles, I would have done it in just over 20 hours, which I have a 24-hour goal. I don't think it's going to happen. We're going to go for 26 or 27 hours.
Speaker 9:Like Greg said in the last episode, with having multiple goals A, b, c goal have that as your A goal and then have a reasonable B goal.
Speaker 2:But we believe in you, Jack, and we're excited for you and a C goal of completing the 100-mile race.
Speaker 11:That's true, that's very true. You know, what's crazy is I went and counted how many people are running it. I think there's 208 100-mile runners and of the 208, there's only 58 females. And I'm like, out of the 58 58 females, I think I'm like seventh or eighth youngest in it, which is always kind of funny when you think about it, because when you look at ultras, you're like it's the average runner. The average age range for an ultra runner is like, I think, in their 40s or 50s.
Speaker 10:but that's old, that's old, that's old, that's that old?
Speaker 11:no, get this, though. There is somebody who's 72 years old that's going to be running a 100 mile. Wow that's amazing. I hope I get to run like see them and I just want to be like. I want to be you, to be able to do that your whole life. That's just epic man.
Speaker 2:We're equally as excited as the excitement that's radiating through your voice right now. We can't wait to support you each and every step of the way.
Speaker 11:Thank you.
Speaker 2:John, I believe you had a training update that you wanted to mention.
Speaker 10:Well, not last week, but this week I will be running the Montclair Donut Run 5K in Montclair, New Jersey. I know I saw a couple of you guys there last year. Hope to see you again. So if you see me there, uh, say hi.
Speaker 11:Do you get a donut?
Speaker 10:Yes, we do get donuts.
Speaker 11:I would hope so.
Speaker 10:Hot chocolate. It's a new race company. Uh, just uh bought it, I bought it. Uh is running it since last year, so it's pretty cool. Hopefully it's the same as last year with the stuff they have, and I think Zappos is a big major sponsor this year, so that should be interesting.
Speaker 11:You know, what would be really cool is if they made a race like Mario and you know how he has to jump for the coins. What if he had to jump for a donut and you had to grab it with your mouth and then you had to eat it until you get to the next? What if you had to jump for a donut and you had to grab it with your mouth and then you had to like eat it until you get to the next one and you had to like collect them all like pokemon?
Speaker 10:the old version of the race at the uh aid stations for donuts, little munchkins.
Speaker 11:So okay, not like the little. What's the donut? Holes? That aren't holes. Munchkins, those are munchkins, what?
Speaker 10:Dunkin' Donuts, munchkins. Dunkin' Munchkins.
Speaker 11:I thought they were called donut holes.
Speaker 9:They can be.
Speaker 2:Yeah, they can be, but they're called munchkins.
Speaker 10:It's the generic. Yeah, they're probably generically donut holes, but everybody knows them as munchkins basically.
Speaker 11:Except for Jack. I'm thinking of Wicked when I think of munchkins, because you know munchkin land.
Speaker 10:She goes to Starbucks. That's why she doesn't know about it.
Speaker 11:I don't even go to Starbucks. I don't drink coffee, that's right oh boy.
Speaker 2:Now I'm looking forward to this weekend, jack, going to see a screening of Wicked, while eating a box of munchkins on her lap there. Just Jack, just remember the safe space for the lyrics of defying gravity.
Speaker 11:Okay, wait, that's not how it ends. How does she end it?
Speaker 2:I'm not going to pretend to be Cynthia Erivo or Idina Menzel.
Speaker 11:I would not do that justice. No one wants to hear this voice right here.
Speaker 2:Well, John, we hope you have a great race this weekend. Do that justice. Yeah, no one wants to hear this voice right here. No one's got no. Well, john, we hope you have a great race this weekend and uh and try to enjoy as many munchkins as possible.
Speaker 11:So see how many you can eat.
Speaker 2:And then see like yeah, okay, yeah, pr, pr and munchkin eating okay well, no, I know there was a.
Speaker 10:There used to be like a bike ride, where you got time off your time as many donuts you ate.
Speaker 11:Oh, that's, epic.
Speaker 2:Well, jack, best of luck in your taper and, john, we look forward to hearing your race report next week Again about how many miles you can run and how many donuts you can eat. But you know I would be remiss. I know we've had a lot of fun on this episode so far, but today, day of recording, we actually did have a race registration and that was for the second annual Disneyland Halloween half marathon weekend. I know none of us here had signed up for it or are planning on attending, but I know I went into the chat for a little bit today and everyone did a phenomenal job of keeping each other abreast of how much time they had left in their queue and then properly sharing, you know, qids, and it seemed like everyone got what they want.
Speaker 2:And, um, you know, just to provide like some stats on it leading up to it, if I had to predict what would sell out, my, my guess was going to be the 5k and the 10k, and that is exactly what happened. The 5K sold out in 50 minutes and then the 10K sold out in a little less than two hours. But as of time of recording, on Tuesday evening, yoga, the half marathon and the chills and thrills challenge are still available. So if you're looking to make your way out to Anaheim just before Labor Day in September, definitely head over to rundisneycom and submit your registration.
Speaker 11:I have just a question in general for you guys. The race is $270?. Wait, what happened? What was it originally?
Speaker 10:Well, they do it differently out there too. So I know, I think california, they add your photo pass into the race registration correct yep okay, what wait?
Speaker 11:how much is I? I haven't bought just one individual race in a while. What is? What is a half marathon usually?
Speaker 2:I. I want to say I don don't have it in front of me, but I want to say, like take Wine and Dine, for example. I think just the half marathon is like $2.30, I believe.
Speaker 11:Okay. So if you go to Disneyland Halloween, if they took 40 pictures of you, it's like $1 per picture. You know what? I wish they didn't do that, because I love that the the disneyland races, but like, I would rather go to the parks and purchase the like, what is that? Like the fast pass and photo package. That's like how much is that?
Speaker 2:40 bucks, I don't know the the lightning lane I, I think it's, I think it's still like $30 a day.
Speaker 11:Yeah, I would rather do that, because then I'm getting more bang for my money. You know what I mean.
Speaker 2:No, that makes sense. I mean, at least it's our understanding that I think there are still two different teams. There's a West Coast team and an East Coast team in terms of Run Disney. So, obviously things are, at least to our knowledge, you know, slightly different on on each coast. But I mean, I, I, I will say, the one thing that I am a little surprised about is and I know we didn't get into a ton of detail about this, but when they did release the coast to coast medal, oh yeah the other week and everyone got really, really excited about that.
Speaker 2:I thought maybe that that might have propelled more people to sign up for the half or the challenge so that they could get that.
Speaker 2:But I mean, the only theory that I have running in my head as to why it didn't sell out on day of is, you know, people looked at the weather forecast from last year and obviously no one has any control over the weather, and that was probably a very freak thing.
Speaker 2:That just was so darn hot that weekend that, you know, maybe people are, you know, hesitant to do that because that could happen again. But again, you know, you really don't know't know what's going to happen on that front. But I mean, I will say, though, the trend that we saw is, you know, when Disneyland registration opened up for the races in January and February, I don't think those sold out either, but then, at the conclusion of the Halloween race, the Disneyland races ended up selling out because there was so much positive press again outside of the heat. So I wonder if it will be a similar situation of, ok, disneyland is going to happen in February. People are going to post stuff, and then maybe that could push Halloween to to sell out again, but we'll have to wait and see.
Speaker 10:Well, it's the same thing that happens with springtime. I think the 10-Miler is still open right now too, as we speak.
Speaker 2:Yeah, 10-Miler and Challenge, I think, are still open. Yeah, it's just that.
Speaker 10:Weather can be cold, it can be blazing hot, and you don't know until you get closer to race weekend.
Speaker 11:That's crazy. I wonder if that's going to be like a thing now, or maybe they're just. They put so much more availability for tickets, or or you know what I mean, Like registrations out.
Speaker 10:Well, the only thing I could say with that weekend that this is Jersey style here. That's the first week of school for most people in the East coast.
Speaker 2:No, I agree, John, yeah that's a.
Speaker 10:That's a tough that that's a tough move. I know, I know the South they start earlier, like in August sometime, but yeah, for like basically the day after labor day is when school starts for most people here.
Speaker 11:Do you guys think that the marathon weekend dates? When they release them, do you think they're going to actually stick with the dates we all think it's going to be, or do you?
Speaker 10:think it's going to be like wine and dine, where they actually put it not like a week ahead of they can't. They can't because it will be on. Uh, I don't think they'll be running a race on new year's day.
Speaker 2:Yeah, well, I would say for for marathon weekend they're they're kind of locked into those two weekends because obviously marathon weekend needs, you know, as long as they want to keep it where it is, it needs to happen after new year's but it has to happen before martin luther king weekend so really they're kind of pigeonholed into, you know, depending on how the calendar falls, those potential one to two full weekends. So no, I'm not expecting any major shift in terms of marathon weekend for 2026.
Speaker 11:That's such smart thinking. Look at you, I try.
Speaker 2:All right. Well, again, if you are interested in signing up for the second annual Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon weekend, be sure to go ahead to head over to run Disney dot com and sign up Now. Before we move on real quick, I do want to mention I did post this on the Facebook page just the other day and, granted as of time of recording, I'm not still 100 percent sure what the availability is, but I did hear from our friends over at Give Kids the World. If you are looking for a last-minute bib for marathon weekend in terms of the 5K, the 10K or Goofy, they do have availability and they have availability for all three races for Disneyland in early 2025. And, as of now, they are just charging you for the bib. There is no fundraising requirements. Obviously, I think they were going to potentially encourage you to fundraise, but there is no fundraising requirements. So if you're looking for a last minute bid for either one of those races, be sure to send me an email at greg at risingrunpodcastcom and we will try and get you hooked up there.
Speaker 10:And also this week, for let's call it Cyber Monday week or whatever it is we have some old not old, but last year's race shirts are on sale. So if you missed out on them and you want to get a good deal on them, check out. Check the shop out, riseandrunpodcastcom slash shop and we have the shirts on sale there. So there's a link on the Facebook page. So if again, if you need to, if you want to look at some old shirts last year's versions of the shirt check them out.
Speaker 2:Excellent, and again that is riseandrunpodcastcom slash shop.
Speaker 4:Thanks.
Speaker 2:John, all right, it's the moment you've been waiting for. It's time for.
Speaker 11:The Race Report.
Speaker 2:The Race Report is sponsored by our friend Tom Stokes at Stoked Metabolic Training, stokesfit, slash, riseandruncoaching. So if you're interested in any of those programs, be sure to visit stokesfit, slash, rise and run coaching Now. Bob mentioned this last week as we rounded out the episode. I just want to reiterate it again this past weekend, the holiday weekend of Thanksgiving, is the busiest race weekend that we have on the calendar and, as you'll see in a second, the number of turkey trots that occurred on Thursday is numerous. We absolutely love and appreciate so much every single one of you that took the time to post your race report and your amazing photos and your accomplishments on our Facebook page. It was awesome to read all of them and see the bling that you got and the awesome costumes that you wore and the adorable photos of families running together. I just, unfortunately, if we were to go through every single detail of every single report from all the races this week and not just Thursday, you would probably be in for a four-hour episode. So we're going to truncate things here. Again, we made sure we did our absolute best between Bob and myself, making sure that all the races got included. And, don't worry, if you got a PR, you're going to hear your PR bell this week. But again, if we do miss any, we greatly apologize. Shoot us a note and we will try to get that corrected in next week's episode during apologies and alibis.
Speaker 2:But here we go, starting on Thanksgiving Day the city of Fairfax Turkey Trot and Fairfax, virginia. Jennifer ran that City of Fairfax Turkey Trot in Fairfax, virginia. Jennifer ran that. Then, in the beautiful city, orlando, florida, we had the seniors first Turkey Trot. Both Patrick and Tracy ran that. In Ocala, florida, we had the YMCA Turkey Trot, 5k and 10K. Hannah ran that. That was her first 10K, so we know what that means. And then, sticking with the YMCA, the YMCA also had a turkey trot in Buffalo, new York. It was the 129th running of this event and both Brett and Amy ran this race and Amy got a three and a half minute PR. Way to go. Amy got a three and a half minute PR. Way to go.
Speaker 9:Amy In Lutz, florida, the Wiregrass Wobble Turkey Trot. Jessica was there In Manchester, connecticut, the Manchester Row Race. Erica was there with her husband and father the Mercy Thanksgiving Day Turkey Run in Fort Smith, arkansas so we know that has to be. Joe was there In Somerville, massachusetts, the Somerville gobble gobble gobble. Lauren and Sophie was there. Sophie was also with her mom.
Speaker 2:Robin and her sister Muriel.
Speaker 9:Now, do you think it?
Speaker 2:was three gobbles for three miles or a 5k, do you?
Speaker 11:think a gobble equals a mile maybe?
Speaker 11:well, technically you have 3.1 miles, so it would be gobble, gobble, gobble, gobble anyways in Columbia, maryland, we have the downtown Columbia Turkey Trot, that is Ethan and Kelly and Kim did that um. In St Leonard in Maryland we had a Turkey Trot Thanksgiving Day 5k at Jefferson Patterson Park. That um Catherine and Carrie ran. So in Boca Raton, florida, I said it right, I think. Okay, jcc Turkey Trot Holly ran that and she caught a PR. In Dedham, massachusetts, there was the Family Gratitude 5K Turkey Trot and Jake ran that.
Speaker 10:In Wesley Mass the Wesley Turkey Tr and jake ran that. In wesley mass the wesley turkey trot, rob ran that one. In regal knoxville, the regal knoxville turkey trot 5k. Bradley ran that and jimmy ran that, the gobble jog 10k. In marietta, georgia, emily ran that one and the 52nd annual Millersville Turkey Trot 5K run in Millersville, pa. Mike ran that one.
Speaker 2:In Tequesta, florida, we had the Run for the Pies four-miler man a race with pie. That sounds like a lot of fun. Amber and Jennifer and Steven ran that. In Las Vegas, nevada, we had the Holiday Classic Turkey Trot and Sarah ran. Chris ran the Wobble. Before you Gobble Turkey Trot.
Speaker 2:That sounds like I think right now that's the leader in the clubhouse for best name of the turkey trots here. Actually I stand corrected. This one might usurp it. In Stephenville, texas, we had the Huffin' for the Stuffin' 5K. That's pretty good, and our buddy Jason ran that. In Traverse, florida, the Golden Triangle YMCA Turkey Trot 5K. Brooke ran that, steve and Brenda ran the Pete Keys Turkey Trot 5-Miler in Binghamton, new York and for Brenda that was her first five-mile race, so we know what that means oh, wow, yeah.
Speaker 2:In Middleton, massachusetts, the seventh annual Middleton Turkey Trot. Jessica and Paul ran that race. The community First Thanksgiving Distinct Classic occurred in Jacksonville, florida, and Angie ran that one.
Speaker 9:In Flemington, new Jersey, the 32nd CEA slash Johanna Foods Turkey Trot happened and Beth was there. In Temple, texas, the 5K Turkey Trot Amanda was there. The Drumstick Dash happened in Charleston, west Virginia. Ileana was there with Steven and Carter. It was Carter's first 5K. And then in Cleveland, ohio, the Cleveland Turkey Trot presented by Onyx Health Club happened and Caitlin and her sister-in-law, elizabeth, were there.
Speaker 11:All right. In Sugarland, texas, there was the 2.8-mile Turkey Trot. That is very specific. I kind of love it. Jennifer ran that and it was her first 2.8-mile run and it was her first 2.8 mile run. In Middleton, new York, there is Wallkill East Rotary Turkey Trot 5K. Megan ran that. In South Boston, virginia, there was the Halifax County Turkey Trot 2024. Chadwick, chelsea, and Ariel ran that. And in Atlanta, georgia, that's where I live, I didn't know about this one. Ivesco QQQ Thanksgiving Day Half Marathon.
Speaker 2:Oh, you ran a half marathon. I was going to say, yeah, not many halves on this day, so that's very unique.
Speaker 11:Yeah, go, wow, all right. Patrick, elizabeth and Ryan did that one.
Speaker 10:In Houston we had the flock of flamingos flew through. Yeah.
Speaker 11:See that 10 times fast.
Speaker 10:Yeah, if I say it wrong, you might have another word come out, a flock of flamingos flew through the Houston Turkey Trattante and Brandy ran that one and got a new PR. In Murf's Borough, tennessee, the Borough Dash Kylie ran that one and got a course PR. The Junior Women's Club of Macon-Dynesville 5K Turkey trot Noel did that.
Speaker 2:and in Marion, iowa, waldo's walk-in one, wun Thanksgiving 3k and 5k Allison Ty Grayson guy ran that one in Denver, colorado, we had the harvesting hope 5k and Cyrus ran that next up the unofficial harmony turkey tr Trot in Harmony, florida. I wonder where the official one takes place, but our leader of the Chaos Crew, monica, played race director for the unofficial Harmony Turkey Trot. She had quite a lot of interesting things to say in her post. I think we might need to get her back on Because we've got to talk about 101 Dalmatians anyway. So Monica was part of that as well. As one of our favorite wheeled athletes, heather, was there as well. In Green Bay, wisconsin, the Festival Foods Turkey Trot 5K. You heard them earlier on the episode. Hollywood Tony participated in that run dressed as a pilgrim.
Speaker 10:He had his shirt on guys.
Speaker 2:Yes, he did have his shirt on. Yes, our guest from last week's Rewind episode, our buddy Taren, ran the five-mile turkey trot in Covington, louisiana, and to round out the Turkey Trots, we had the Des Moines Turkey Trot 5-Miler in Des Moines, iowa, and Erica ran that. So to all of our Turkey Trotters, whether it was a 2.8K, a 5K or a half marathon, congratulations, gobble, gobble, gobble to you and all of your loved ones Continuing on on Friday or Black Friday if that is a shopping holiday, that you do celebrate. Our buddy Jonathan, over in Haifa, israel, ran the Haifa race and then Amanda participated in her second run, so back-to-back runs for Amanda. Amanda participated in her second run, so back-to-back runs for Amanda. She participated in the Turkey Shuffle 10K in Marble Falls, texas.
Speaker 10:I got an idea, Greg.
Speaker 2:Yes, what's your idea, john?
Speaker 10:We need to have a race the day after Thanksgiving and call it the Turkey Leftover 5K.
Speaker 2:Okay, Because that's what everybody has on friday is turkey leftovers. So there there is a 5k in the town that I used to live in before I moved to my current house, and they always do a 5k on friday as well, and they call it the burn off the bird.
Speaker 2:Oh, so okay, so there's a couple more ideas there for Black Friday runs, because we had so many races on Thursday. Saturday is actually really, really short. We're going to start in North Augusta, south Carolina the Palmetto Peach Half Marathon and, I guess, other races, because Sean ran the 10K there and then Lori and Dylan ran the half marathon. In Livingston Manor, new York, there was the Livingston Manor Turkey Trout Not Trot Trout 5K. So now is this like a turducken situation. Are we now shoving trouts into turkeys? Is that going to be a new thing? Megan, you'll have to tell us about that one, but Megan was the one that participated in that race. And then we move to Sunday, and if there's probably one event that defines this Thanksgiving weekend, that would be and that was one of the answers and family feud. Um, earlier in the episode, this weekend was the space coast marathon weekend and we had a boatload of rise and runners there. We're going to start with the marathon. Carrie was there and she smashed a new PR of five hours and 35 minutes. Way to go, carrie.
Speaker 2:Celia and Eggert did this race for the second time. Our buddy, jennifer, ran this and then I know I saw some photos on Facebook enjoyed the Eagles game with Bob after this one. So to Jennifer and Steve, go birds. Eagles game with Bob after this one. So to Jennifer and Steve, go birds. Jeremy ran this and he also got a PR of four hours and 58 minutes. Our buddy Kay dressed as Buzz Lightyear for this one. She didn't tell anybody the day of but, you know, surprised everyone in her facebook post. Uh, you know, when she offered up her race report, k got a pr of three minutes. Way to go, girl. Also dressed up as buzz lightyear for this race. Our council of costume member as well, margaret, ran this. I mentioned him a bunch last week. Our pacing buddy Ryan was there again helping pace. I know he helped pace both Margaret and Jennifer and a few others as well. Way to go, ryan. We mentioned her earlier. She's back on the race report. Our buddy Heather was the push rim champion for this race this year. Congratulations, heather, we are so proud of you.
Speaker 2:And again, another person who we mentioned as well, the leader of the Chaos Crew, monica, ran this. I know she was going for a BQ. I don't think the BQ happened, but she got a few other letters from this one. She got a PR. Then we move to the half marathon. Now apparently this is for the first time in a while, I guess. With Space Coast you can always select if you want to do the north course or the south course, but apparently for this year they were only offering the south course for the half marathon. So the following people ran this particular race Our wonderful co-host, bob ran that.
Speaker 2:Britt was there. Our buddy, ellie Jared, julie With her guide, jeff Kelsey, lisa, lucy, megan, nicole. Ryan was there with his wife, sonia cheering. This was Ryan's first half marathon, so we know what that means. Jennifer's husband, steven, did the half marathon and he got a PR.
Speaker 2:Aaron's co-host on the pace yourself, it's just cancer podcast. Our buddy, stephanie, ran the half marathon as well. Mike and Tabitha. Sean not only got a PR but he also got a POT on this thing. Brianna got an eight-minute PR. Debbie ran this race and, to round out the Space Coast Half Marathon, jennifer ran this and she got a PR. Congratulations to all of our Space Coast runners. I mean, once again, space Coast does not disappoint with medals so big you probably could eat Thanksgiving leftovers off of them and they, you know, to keep up with the spacing, they probably have their own gravitational pull to them. So hopefully when you put those up on your metal rack it doesn't come crashing off the wall there. But we have a few more races here on Sunday. To round out the race report In Collingdale, tennessee, we had the little Debbie tree cake run.
Speaker 2:Both Jimmy and Amanda ran this and for both of them this was their first seven mile run. So two PR bells and I gotta say I love the photo op with the little little Debbie cake tree in life size. That was so cool. Also this weekend was the seattle marathon and vanessa ran that one in and grant, I'm riley. I'm sorry ahead of time in case I butcher this. In chalukathi, ohio, was the officer larry cox Memorial Turkey Trot 5K. And to round out the race report, on the island of Oahu, the Kiwi Coast Race 4-Miler and this occurs on the east side of Oahu. Valerie was there. This was Valerie's first ever 4-Miler, so we know that that means that PR. And if there's one place that you want to do your first ever four miler, I think Oahu is a really good place to do it, wouldn't you say so, alicia?
Speaker 9:Absolutely.
Speaker 2:And that, my friends, is the 2024 Thanksgiving weekend race report. Well, friends, that brings episode 167 of the Rise and Run podcast to a close. Thank you, as always, for joining us and supporting us through this amazing podcast. Community and family, we cannot do it without you. Real quick reminder this is a Zoom Thursday, so day of release, 8 pm eastern. Uh, we'll make sure that bob posts all the details to the facebook page.
Speaker 2:If you are listening, uh, you know, bright and early. We would love for as many of you to join us. We want to hear about your turkey trots. We want to hear about how your simulations went. If you have any questions about the next simulation that's going to be coming up in just a couple of weeks' time, we are here to support one another and offer advice and share stories and just guide one another across the physical and proverbial finish lines.
Speaker 2:So if you run, you are our friend. We again are so proud of the work that you are putting in each and every step on each one of these training runs. You should be proud of yourself. Remember to always love yourself. No matter how your run goes, you are destined for great things. We'll see you next week and, until then happy running.
